Restoring Paypal account back into good standing from negative balance
 

This is my first post about my personal account. I have read around the forum a bit but I have not gone stealth myself, yet at least. About 4 months ago accepted a return for a $1000 phone. The buyer opened a case and ebay closed in their favor before I could find time to get to the post office to sign for and pick up the package. My ebay account was at the threshold for defects which put my defect rate so high it would be very hard to correct it. I had no balance in my paypal account so when they charged the account that put it at -$1000.

I just decided to call it all a loss and try to use my buddies account or go stealth. Now am thinking that is crazy too give away what I had in my own name for $1000 and some hard work fixing my seller performance level. Paypal waited a couple months then said they need to confirm my identity and that i couldn't buy, sell and whatnot. Now i cannot login in the last couple days. So I have been trying to get a hold or them and see what they say.

Ideally, I would like to be able to link a new PayPal and not pay off the $1000. I doubt that is the right play but I don't know which is why I am here looking for help. I know there are some experts here that probably have some insight on what I can expect and/or advice on what I should do moving forward. Anything anyone can add would be much appreciated.

If you never have sent your Docs and SSN to pp you can make another acc but it's the same story as stealth acc which means you have to use all new details to avoid to be linked , also you need to change eb email and id to link up this new pp acc

Oh ok, thanks for your response Digicambio. I called in and was told that my account had been revoked and they are going to send it to collections. I think i will just take your advice. I dont think it is worth it to salvage the account based on the tone of that phone call that i just had. The more i have been thinking about it leads me to believe my account will be done for once I pay them. Time to learn stealth!

I am going to get the stealth book and make my own accounts but id also like to try and give this account a go again with a new paypal. Whats the best way to do that? Should I just buy a paypal account in the marketplace instead of making one myself. Because I want to be able to use it asap and I want it done right.

I wouldn't of let your own personal account go like that, $1000 was not a lot, you could of kept it and kept using it normally, Now you'll forever need to stealth. So whenever you want to buy on ebay or any site that uses paypal, you'll no longer be able to use paypal as a method of payment.

I have my personal business account (my originally personal account was was banned back in 2012) but my legit business paypal is tied to my new home address. I love the convenience of shopping online and paying with paypal knowing I can ship to my address. Avoids filling in shipping info when selecting paypal, but oh well. Best of luck to you

I realize the value if having a paypal with my name in it. I could still pay it and keep using the account. Or is it too late to save the account?

If it is in collections already, it is too late to salvage. Just move on. Even if by some miracle you do salvage it, you would probably be getting limits on it every so often.

They said they were sending but hadn’t yet when i talked them last.
