| | | ILovePaypalNOT | 10-18-2009 04:14 PM | Paypal Limited while booking a flight I booked a flight and paid with my paypal account as I always have done in the past..
an hour later I was limited
The airline still says my reservation is confirmed , and its an electronic ticket, but my payment went from completed to pending in Paypal, yet the balance in the account still shows as the payment was made.
Can paypal cancel my reservation? Even though its already booked and confirmed |
| aking | 10-18-2009 04:23 PM | if its already booked and you have the confirmation # you should be ok. I would call the airlines and make sure. On the other hand, if you were limited, they may try to reverse the payment back to your paypal and that may cancel your ticket. Sounds like you need to talk to paypal and see what they are doing and why they limited your account. |
| ILovePaypalNOT | 10-18-2009 04:28 PM | It was a 2 week old account , and I accepted a payment for 475 and bought a flight for 460
Thats why I was limited : For using the account :)
Normally when something like this happens the payment actually says "reversed" but it says pending ... I guess I will just have to check everyday with the airline o make sure. |
| aking | 10-18-2009 04:30 PM | so you didnt get a hold on a payment sent to a 2 week old account? I am assuming both the paypal and ebay accounts are both 2 weeks old, correct? I would have thought the payment would be held unless the payment was already released before you bought the ticket. |
| ILovePaypalNOT | 10-18-2009 04:50 PM | On second thought ..I will send a PM , thats too much info for the public :) |

these airlines are on the updated list as of late Sept.2009 American Airlines - US/UK customers only
Northwest Airlines - US customers only
Delta - US customers only
US Air
Continental Airlines
Southwest Airlines
JetBlue
Midwest Airlines
Lufthansa (Germany)
Monarch Airlines (UK)
Jet 2 (UK) - GBP/EUR transactions only
Emirates (Dubai) - GBP/EUR transactions only
Air Asia (Malaysia)
Air Asia X (Malaysia)
there are a few Vacations available now using paypal as well :ranger: |
| Here We Go Again | 10-18-2009 11:30 PM | Not to be taken as a slap or slam..... OK
Personally there is NO WAY that I would ever use Paypal to purchase a Plane ticket.
I would not use Paypal to purchase much that I really wanted....
Because the odds of there being a problem are pretty high.
This is why I have a credit that gives me American Airlines Miles for my purchases.
I use this card a LOT in my personal life as well as business....
Miles make for cheaper vacations. |
| GreenBean | 10-18-2009 11:35 PM | HWGA,
where's that sense of adventure? LOL. Imagine, checking in at the airport, getting on the plane after all the security checks. You are sitting in the window seat sipping the OJ. Steward comes up to with a phone, says Paypal are on the line & they want to talk to you.Conversation goes 'Your paypal's limited, get off the flight'
next stop Nevada for a quick divorce :faint: |

| ILovePaypalNOT | 10-19-2009 01:20 PM | Yeah but I reached my PM limit for the day :)
I will try again |
| EmptyPockets | 10-22-2009 07:01 PM | ^^^^^ wow, I saw a post earlier today where someone mentioned your continual roadblocks and I must say after reading alot of different threads - you have the worst "continuous" luck I have ever seen. :pout:
I hope things smooth out for you ILovePaypalNOT |
| username | 10-23-2009 09:38 AM | lol i have to say after reading over this thread, booking a flight with a paypal acct is really creative...
i am assuming lovepaypalnot is having so much trouble because hes probably using prepaid accts as banks for paypal, ing direct or whatever it may be.
i would say, based on my own experimentation that metabank, and ing direct gets limited 95% of the time when you have real money sent to you, probably over $400
one other problem is looks like he might have too many accounts that are new and trying to move money through them too soon. |
| Vicvelcro | 10-23-2009 10:25 AM | I suspect that it is not one individual issue that is responsible. My guess is that collectively, too many chancy things are taking place and the cumulative bot-kill score exceeds the maximum allowable parameters.
Booking tickets = ok but not perfect
Bank Acct = doable but maybe funky
Card = 50/50
