PayPal is playing with my business verified account.
 

Hi community,

PayPal is playing with my business verified account. Without any reason, they permanently limited my account. On asking them reason, they said " excessive risk".
I want to know from other people if they came across something like this before.

I was selling virtual goods and services (web hosting particularly)
Without any reason, they blocked my verified PayPal account and froze my funds.
On asking them for details their answer was that they are not able to provide any solid reason for blocking my account.

And youre surprised you got shut down? Virtual goods are some of the highest risk items you could possibly deal in.
No big surprise here and dont expect to get that account back. Unfortunate but true.

I was not selling virtual goods as a freelancer. I registered the company with the state government and verified my PayPal account on behalf of the company. How can they block my business account so easily without any reason?
There are other similar web hosting players in the market using PayPal without any issues?

And you had no disputes or chargebacks? All operation was smooth? While pp does frown on digital stuff, you could push back harder - it's still a hard climb back though sadly

How can they? Yes they can and they have been doing this to us for well 15 years.
Why do you think this forum and the stealth guide is created?

virtual goods is a well known risky item to sell btw.

Yes, nowadays there's almost no level of stupid that would surprise me anymore.

As long as I do my own affairs correctly, what people do is none of my business.

Did you happen to have a lot of disputes? Especially ones in which you fought? I suspect you might.

Hosting in itself is not an issue. It's only a problem if you have too much disputes or open cases and you fight them.

Look into Paddle. You can sell your services through them and they take PayPal on your behalf.

Thing is that their managers can not distinguish MS keys from legit hosting services. Seems like "oh, that is a virtual product? Highrisk, ban!" There is a lot of fraud going on with the virtual products, so it seems it is cheaper for them to bank whatever they find suspicious rather than taking a risk and allowing it - they have tons of brick and mortar businesses onboard that are times less risky.
