Paypal is keeping my 24k after 180 day hold
 

Paypal put me on the 180 day permanent suspension last September. When I logged in yesterday I saw they sent all my 24k to themselves on April 9th. I had that much money in there because I used to buy a lot of product through paypal. I buy over the counter medical supplies that are expensive and I can go through that kind of money quickly. I had no idea that paypal could or would ever keep my money for any reason. I looked at their user agreement and I did not violate it from the best of my understanding. No controlled drugs, firearms, tobacoo products etc. I buy diabetes testing supplies from distributors all OTC. Thats it. Is there anything I can do? Is it worth it to go down the legal route?

Since they took all 24K then you must have violated their TOS.
And something else must be going on that you perhaps forgot to tell us?

essentially yes, I'd go after them for that much $$.

did the 24K fund come from selling on Ebay or you just transferred from your bank account?

I purchase product from vendors who wanted to use paypal as the medium of exchange. It didn't have anything to do with Ebay. Just paypal. They said I violated the part of the the user agreement around "narcotics, steroids, drug paraphernalia, certain controlled substances, or other products that present a risk to consumer safety". But I did NOT buy/sell narcotics, steroids, drug parahernalia, certain controlled substances etc...

Another case of NEVER, EVER, EVER keep a large amount on PayPal. Cardinal sin #1.

how did you pay via PAYPAL?did you use bank fund or credit card?
you could have bought something which is narcotics,steriods,drug parhernalia,controlled substance without realising it.Or your seller has been selling them using false description.

did you keep a lot of money in your Paypal account?
where does the money come from?
Most buyers would use their debit or credit card via Paypal to buy,their Paypal balance is often zero.

Moving forward you can pay vendors without keeping dangerous amounts in your Paypal account(s) by adding a bank account and making it your funding source for payments.

I'd try to pursue the money by whatever means available, especially since you weren't doing anything illegal like many of the AUP-violation victims here.

Right before the account was froze, I got paid by 2 people I sold to who paid me through Paypal. I just happened to let it sit cause I really didnt think about ever having a problem like this. Sometimes I would just use the funds that were in my account to pay people (if i got paid in paypal) but most of the time I did use a debit card. So I paid both ways....

I buy and sell diabetic test strips, along with other diabetes testing supplies like meters, insulin pump supplies, over the counter human insulin, dexcom, omnipods etc. It's all OTC though.

So medical items. Yah, I'm not surprised you got in trouble.
24K is a lot so perhaps it's worth it talking to an attorney that is well versed with Paypal policy and see what he says

I've seen this before, more common than you'd think.

IMHO, this is a plain theft by PayPal, especially if they cannot specify or define 'damages' to be compensated for.

Definitely, get a lawyer. Shouldn't be too expensive, 1.5K-2K probably.

He is not a licensed dealer or a pharmacy,he sells human insulin,any drug whether it is OTC or prescription that the buyer puts into his mouth can cause big liability down the road.
He should stick with just selling supplies like strips
