| | | Chiefs | 11-22-2021 11:23 PM | PayPal Permanently Limited | $21k balance Good evening forum,
First post here ~ seeking advice more than anything.
Real account with my real info, sold a luxury item and of course we selected PayPal ~ made a new account. Used it for the transaction. Buyer received item via Overnight shipping, day of delivery my account was placed on perm suspension. Previous they asked for my ID and receipt. Both legit.
I do have a history with PayPal with probably, realistically, about 5-6 accounts within the last 5 years.
Sent an email to the executive office and dan schulman.
Anybody have any insight? I've thought about refunding the buyer and having him resend me the money however I am not familiar or know him personally to do so. As he as the item as well. I'd fear he would run with the money.
Its been about 40 days since limitation. |

| yankee | 11-22-2021 11:34 PM | Re: PayPal Permanently Limited | $21k balance 90 or 180 days it should be released by paypal as long as buyer doesnt dispute it.
You will need to be in contact to get an early release of 90 days. A letter from the buyer stating they are more that satisfied etc may help. |

Never thought about a letter but thats a great idea. Thank you. |

Re: PayPal Permanently Limited | $21k balance Should be ok OP with the proof and wait period...just kind of rough to see 21k locked up - how fast did it get that high? Or was it all from this watch transaction? |
| phaz0rz | 11-23-2021 09:13 AM | Re: PayPal Permanently Limited | $21k balance It was unwise to open an account with your real info after you've already had accounts with your real info limited in the past. Paypal does not forget. Also really reckless to accept such a big amount on a new account with no transaction history.. that's guaranteed to limit any account.
Unless they say you've violated their Acceptable Use Policy you should have the money released in 6 months at most as other have said. They may get you on an AUP violation though since you have a habit of making new accounts after being limited.
Good luck. |

you need to have a clear answer from PayPal regarding your balance to know when they would release it.
But, If you finally come to a decision that they will never release it, I suggest you collect all info about your transaction and contact a Lawyer.
we are talking about 21k, not $21. |

Or was it all from this watch transaction? | Yeah I have all the proof and everything is legit on this transaction, It was from one transaction ~ buyer has been using PayPal since 2009 and has a business account. So that'll help my case to prove its legitimate funds. Just like you said, Its mind boggling to see the balance restricted.
My worst PayPal account over the years was negative like 40 bucks or something like that and I never paid it. Surely they can't take my funds over that? I don't care if they debit whatever I owe them. I just am worried I won't see the funds ever get released. As anybody would probably share the same thought. |
| james_112233 | 11-23-2021 01:46 PM | Re: PayPal Permanently Limited | $21k balance As above if they do you under the AUP policy violation then you're screwed. Otherwise you should 100% see your money again. |
| agent006140 | 11-23-2021 04:15 PM | Re: PayPal Permanently Limited | $21k balance Keep opening new account despite PAypal closing past accounts is not a reason for AUP violation.
What luxury item did you sell for $21K?
I am afraid you will have to wait 6 months to get your fund,as chargeback can come in 180 days.
Make sure the bank account linked to your Paypal account is in good standing,do not remove it. |

Acceptable Use Policy? I've never done bad just have gotten my accounts closed in the passed because of minor and I mean minor chargebacks. Like $20 ordeals. Stupid but I never bothered with them.
Sold a 16610lv mint/w box & papers. (rolex). I have both my bank card and bank account linked. |
Re: PayPal Permanently Limited | $21k balance There's a strange smell in here....
Hope it all works out for you but there's not a cat in hells chance that they'll release your monies until such time as a chargeback cannot be made so make yourself comfy for at least 180 days.
I'm going to stick my neck out and say you'll never see the monies. Start prepping your brief. |

If they make a link to a banned account you won't see the money.
Who burns 5 accounts over unpaid fees then sells a rolex on an account they're not entitled to.
Was this an ebay sale, no mention of where you found your buyer. Did they really tell you they had a business paypal and they opened it in 2009? How did that come into the sale matter?
Anyway, like I said, good luck, you're going to need it if your tale is legit. |

And over the course of 5+ years i have burned a couple accounts as I wasn't 18 years old yet. Owning a PayPal and having them verify a social that isn't 18 years old = instant ban. Instead I just let them get limited with restriction and never verify. Not an eBay sale or else the funds would've been released through eBay not PayPal. Buyer was found on a private forum for rolex's that I am a member of. And no? When you receive a payment from an individual vs Business account the payment will look different, And name/email of the paypal will appear as a business not an individual. For instance, John doe vs JohnDoe LLC.
Regardless, Your negativity isn't appreciated. :yar: |
Re: PayPal Permanently Limited | $21k balance I'm allowed to assume anything I want thanks, it's sort of how a forum works.
Still getting a whiff of something... :rip:
All the best with your latest abuse of paypal. :thumb: |

| agent006140 | 11-23-2021 07:39 PM | Re: PayPal Permanently Limited | $21k balance On PAypal website,it has a list of AUP violations like ponzi scheme,fnancial products,illegal,counterfeit items,a mile long.
Paypal also have a list of high risk items -AAPL products, comic books,Rolex is definitely on the list as there are many counterfeits out there, soembuyers may not realise it is a knockoff until it goes to a Rolex store and found out.
So be patient, unless your buyer file INAD or chargeback, you will get your money back, just dont remove your linked bank account. |
