Question For those who sell many high value items, I've got a question.

Okay, I did some research about all these limits.. but still I need to know something from those who have realy been in the next situation.

I'm going to sell laptops on eBay..

Feedback score = 101
Sellers feedback = 21
Positive 1 month = 0
Positive 6 months = 12
Positive 12 months = 40

So I can consider myself an okay account.

My Paypal account is verified, but I read that you can receive a maximum amount of money in a year or else they'll ask for id.

My thing is, I think after 4 sales I'll reach that maximum and I think I have like 10 sales a month.

Is there anyone who also makes a lot of money, more than the yearly maximum?

I'ld like to know if there is anything I should pay attention to..

Thanks in advance.

Just be prepared to provide photographic ID, copy of a bill and supplier contact details/invoices.

Also add tracking numbers for every item you send.

Make sure your contact number is valid and active and it would also be useful if you have access to the address you have registered with PP.

If you are able to do all this you will be fine.

If you can't then you won't last long and will probably end up with a large amount of money being held by paypal.

"Just be prepared to provide photographic ID, copy of a bill and supplier contact details/invoices."

The ID isn't a problem, however.. a copy of a bill and supplier contact?

I mean, "I know a girl who knows a friend who has an uncle who sells stuff".. in cases like then ofcours there are no bills.

Hmmm, if you answer them by:

- I bought it on the streets

or

- I bought it but no receipt came with it

Would that be a problem?

Hi, bill as in utility/bank statement... something with an address matching your Paypal account.

There are ways to get around supplying invoices. You can for example phone paypal and give them a tale. HOWEVER this isn't so easy when you are selling lots of high value items because the obvious assumption will be that they are stolen or don't exist.

It depends on whether you are selling new laptops (in which case you will need to provide some paper trail as to how you came by them) or used/reconditioned ones....

Welcome to the forum games'
Way to go with thinking ahead. Regardless of the amount of money you make, you use paypal. paypal may look at your account at any time. As the Captain said & you realize, you need to be ready.
ID, utility bills and invoices are needed. With your items, there is a bigger need for paperwork. (Not going to go into those reasons ) You just need to have the invoices, use the account correctly, deal with problems.
I so like it when users think ahead. Saves them probelms later

If youre selling more than a couple of laptops you can bet your life they will ask for this information. Go slowly and ship asap- one of the things they ask for is proof of delivery- so if youve sold 10 laptops and they ask you for proof of delivery before youve shipped them then you could be waiting a while before you get access to the money. Can cause a lot of trouble, especially if need the money to pay for the laptops you havent sent yet.
