Account limited I've never been a seller
 

Hello

About two weeks ago, the day after I received my income tax refund, I had my personal account limited after I bought a whole $30 of Bitcoin using PayPals platform. I received an email right after I purchased the Bitcoin saying that my account was limited and they needed some information from me. I go to the resolution center and all it says is thank you for submitting your information they are reviewing it and I will hear back in 72 hours. After countless phone calls and letting them know that I'm not a seller and never have been as well as explaining all of my recent transactions, (I only receive my paycheck through direct deposit and sometimes buy things from Amazon) they keep saying I'll hear back in 72 hours. I can't access my money including my entire tax refund. I'm late on my electricity bill for the first time ever and now two days behind on rent. We're facing eviction because of this. I made an appointment in Oct to get my dog spayed and I couldn't make her appointment because my funds are frozen. I've been over the TOS and UA many times and I have never violated. I've emailed the higher-ups as recommend and I have made a complaint with the BBB. I don't know what else to do. I repeat I am not a seller and this is the only PayPal account I've ever had. Can anyone help me? I've never been told why my account is limited and I've done nothing wrong what are my options?

how old is your Paypal account?
Is it under your name only?
what is linked to your Paypal account-credit card,debit card,bank account
Does AMZN accept Paypal ?I dont think so,but it can change?
Do you ever have another Paypal account,or someone used your ID to open one which is in default?

do you deposit your paycheck into your Paypal account via direct deposit from your employer?
What about your tax refund,does it go right into your Paypal account?
who did you buy your bitcoin from on Paypal platform?

I opened my account in 2016
It's in my name only
The only card it's linked to is my PayPal debit card
I use my PayPal debit card to make purchases on Amazon
I've never had any other PayPal account and to my knowledge no one has opened one in my name
My employer deposits my paycheck into my PayPal via direct deposit
My tax refund went straight to my PayPal account
I bought Bitcoin directly through PayPal using their crypto market no body else

I dont know,why not go and review Paypal AUP violations .
You dont have to be a seller to get restricted,using PAYPAL to engage in drug,cigarette,steroid,obscene items,promote violence,sex,firearms,get quick scheme,multi level marketing,bribery,etc.
what do you buy on amzn?

I have read the UA a few times trying to find out if I've done anything even remotely wrong and I honestly can't find anything. I use Amazon for very everyday things: household items, clothes, beauty products etc. If I thought I had violated any of the rules I'd just accept that I was in violation and wouldn't fight this. I don't know what my next steps should be to resolve this and get access to my money.

It is not wise to use PayPal for a paycheck direct deposit, in the USA these guys are not regulated like a bank and you have far less protection in getting your money back. I use PayPal only as a paying platform funded from m debit cark of my bank account so there is always no balance on the account. I have been stung by them over the years.

The only consolation is they usually send your money back in 180 days, but I have heard that they can also send the monies to federal/state for it t be claimed back by you.

Sadly, you are going to have keep calling PP and hoping for a decent agent to help - also try their social media front - twitter, fb, IG, etc

Paypal will respond to a lawyer,you may be able to find one online for a small fee/
Some folks use PAYPAL to receive tax refund,payroll $$,insurance claims $$,gifts for various reasons-
-hiding money from their spouse in divorce proceeding
-hiding money from STATE govt if collecting SS disability payment altho now it is hard because Paypal wants SSN
-no bank account or would rather not use bank account
-go shoppIng with a PAYPAL debit card,when used as a credit card,will get a 1% cash rebate from Paypal,altho some retailers would not accept it as a credit card,eg WMT.
