Paypal account permanently limited because of "high level of risk"
 

I purchased a Stealth account which was aged 90 days and used a Firefox IP masker. I'd been using it consistently for about 5 months before it was randomly permanently limited. I didn't receive any email or get a request for further information, I just opened my account to see it was permanently banned. I've tried relentlessly to email them through all channels and opened a BBB complaint to get further assistance in hopes of reopening the account. But all they tell me is that my Paypal account was permanently limited because of a "high level of risk" and that the decision is final. Is this common with stealth paypals? The person I purchased this account from said that they have different security systems to check if an account is stealth. How can this be avoided?

No,there is something bad with his account or him,Paypal can be sneaky,it would not tell you what and where and how it digs out the dirt !

could it be the seller who sold you the stealth account??

Some brands care -Nike,Adidas,Tiffany,Chanel,Rolex,A LONG LIST

OP may have used the account for 5 months,that does not mean Paypal cant find any fault,sometimes it takes decades to solve a murder!

we dont know really know enough,who is the seller who sold the stealth account and what is in the stealth account and what Ebay/Paypal or MP have on him?

I can sell XYZ but sometimes I sell ABC and ABC is the one which gets me into trouble?
Once there is this guy who sells flawed coins and incense related items,he always add a line which said if you dont see what you are looking for,just ask.
Then he bragged he made enough to buy land and built a house on it using his sales proceeds.
Then one day he watched his listings taken down one by one by Ebay.
this is one example of late action.

blocking IP address alone is not a reason to completely shut down an account.
if it is not the seller who sold him the stealth account,then it could be his activities,he said he has used it for 5 months.

what did he do?go into your account and handle it???

Those sales venues continuously tweak their software ,so what is missed before could be caught now
I remember long ago Ebay allows seller to bid on his own listing,then changed to not allowed ,and it will call you and ask t o speak to so and so,now they dont need to call,
back then sellers do not use tracking,now they do.

I think the Firefox IP masker you used may have contributed to their decision, somebody with nothing to hide would not use one, so it makes the account suspicious.

Missing are the details of what the OP has been doing with his pp account...sales, transfers, etc - difficult to discuss without more details

I've sold clothing on Grailed and had a couple big transfers that went through with no issue. That's about it. They limited my account after I sold a 120 dollar hoodie. I have no clue what set their alarms off

This is precisely why I dumped accepting gaypal as a payment method on all of our websites. I work too d**n hard for them to decide for no reason to hold my money. I now use my own credit card processor as well as cash and money order. Guess what? No more holds or freezes! Screw gaypal. The final straw was when they "froze" a $500 order which requires us to put in hours of custom work and assembly. After that, they were cut out from our websites completely. I am done.

I disagree, using anything to block IP addresses will cause suspicion and a decision to suspend the account, I know from experience.

The named person definitely used to sell paypal accounts with payoneer attached. It was definitely purchased on here.

It's just unfortunate that the person that posted the above tends to do so without first properly reading posts and engaging their brain.

Yes, They did limit my account once and asked for documentation. I let the seller go in my account and handle it. It was fixed and I used the account for a couple more months after that

Give more details on activity , did you sold any designer high end clothes ? Was it always just trailed ? PayPal can ban for one shady move

Some sellers retire. When they do, we remove the thread completely.

New sellers will come.

And we remove those who don't offer our standard of quality anymore from time to time.

At some point, yes. And on the other point in need to get the money from a seller/service that was offered but mysteriously deleted here. Which feels suspicious to me.

It's close to a four digit value that is taken but no action done towards service agreement (payout) and no response in self action and on request it's same answer but no action.

Case is now way more than two months old - seller thread here is deleted and the accounts are empty now, with a happy new owner of the amount.

Edit: Sellers may retire, yes. But that should not end up in debts towards members and especially not while still being active in the community. Additionally accusing board staff to be scammers.

Well, it's simply a decision to do so or not do so. The wording looks "favorite-colored" to me at that point.

When I read that sentence it's the following I read in between the lines: "We remove those who have been reported to scam people repeatedly."

So scammers are backed-up here or can I still get in touch trying to discuss things in a fair manner here? Wondering why that particular dude isn't active anymore, who recently had a well known Seller Thread.

Don't wanna be uncomfortable - but that's just how it feels to me.
