Are all paypal seller biz accounts getting these now when they ask for ID verification or only some?


I just got this on a new paypal seller account I made. Im hoping its not all, im hoping it was just my info that was bad

It's on all accounts that get hit with risk based limitations.

If your "info that was bad" means you didn't use real information then again it won't make any difference.

Personal accounts seem to have no face scan requests

I think it's just accounts that aren't made properly or doing risky activities.
I haven't made any new ones, but some people I helped create didn't get hit

Incorrect.

This is a new policy that's been implemented. It's got nothing to do with accounts not being made "properly" or using "bad info".

My Paypal account is from early 2000,Paypal has not asked me ,but then I dont use it anymore for selling,just for giving charity.
One change they have made ,I just realised is that when you use their debit card,it draws from your paypal fund,if not enough,then it takes the rest from your bank account,now they just tap your Paypal fund only.
There must be trouble accessing your bank account,NSF!!

On reddit some guy signed up for the auto DS yearly subscription. He didn't realise and some how got charged $600. His account is negative $600...is that even possible to be charged with no money in the paypal account?

Could be security issue,there are more shoplifting,raiding,check washing,theft,robbery,scams going on these days.
At one time,Walgreen of SAN Fran was raided multiple times a day for food in the freezer.
Some supermarkets have to place a lid over their Haagen Dazs Ice Cream so shoppers can't eat them while they shop.
Diners in Oakland,CA restaurants are being robbed in and outside restaurants.
Stores in Portland ,OR are closing as authority does not have enough funding to stop the crimes.
Home Depot,Lowe have to lock up their high ticket items behind bars,I have seen Walmart replacing senior citizens with young plain clothes detective hanging around in different departments.
Even USPS is not spared,they will threaten the mailman picking up mail from roadside mail box,take the mail and sell ther keys on internet for $1k.
They will also go to dimly lit bars on Friday,makes friends with Apple phone users and steal their Appl id by looking over their shoulder.

One guy is jailed for fencing stolen goods and reselling them on Ebay,after Ebay fees,he took in $1.3 millions.
FBI received a tip ,some US ISIS supporter was listing electronics for sale on EBay,take the money to fund US activities and ship nothing,it went to his Paypal account and take a close look.

It is possible if a bank account was attached and payment was via echeck...and then it bounces so account goes negative

what did he give them when he signed up?
How do they know his Paypal account ID?

When you sign up you link your paypal account to the subscription and only pay a dollar to start then after 7 days they automatically charge the account if it's still active. Like any other subscription through paypal

So his account is a negative $600,I doubt PAYPAL has paid $600 for him,he should receive an email from Paypal asking him to bring it back to zero balance.
I would not use that Paypal account to receive payment,it would be used to reduce that negative balance

That account will be limited/suspended by PP while restitution is being sought....in most cases

Does anyone know if PP checks DL# if it matches public records if it asks for ID?

Think about how much connection and manpower needed to do that for all accounts...algorithm check is easier

DL #= DRIVER LICENSE Number.
It can be easily verified,policeman can check the number sitting in his car.
So can private detectives,so why not Paypal,why ask if it cannot be verified,

I was going to say I never had this happen but it seems it is a new feature only arising on new accounts which are flagged and business accounts. Since I tosses gaypal in the trash years ago it doesn't matter to me but still...
