Default Paypal funds lost forever and ever

Here is a worthwhile point for you all.

When paypal hold your money you most times can get it back after 180 days.

However make sure you keep all your log in details to do this.

I rather daftly had a massive burning session where I burn all my paperwork. I never throw anything out in the post as this can come back to haunt you (even shredding is not 100% guaranteed)

Anyway I have this Paypal account with approx £430 in it.

I went and burnt all the details, forgetting than I had not got the money.

I check the email of a limited account and I have a message from PP which says "Yours funds are available for withdrawel"

I thought "great", then the horror set in. I realised I had burnt my piece of paper with the PP stealth details on.

Could not remember password, could not remember security questions.

I try every so often to get back in. Unfortunetely I cannot remember my password. I use a combination of letters and numbers ensuring it would be hard to crack.

Anyway the moral of the story is keep the details safe. This has never happened to me a second time, but it is an expensive mistake to make!

You don't have any other options? Like phone number, credit card, or bank accounts? This did happen to me once as I love having bon fires in the back yard and start the fire with some old PayPal notes. I did find the credit card number just by PayPal showing me the last 2. After that then I was able to reset my password and I think you can use the email option as well.I hope this helps.

You should try keeping all your details on windows notepad or excel and save it on a flash drive then stick the flash drive in a safe.

You should use bestcrypt to create a virtual drive and store all your info there. Then just unmount the drive when you do not need it. Supposedly there is no back door and even the federal government can not crack it, though if it was important enough I am sure they could. Only way in would be for them to get your password by a key logger or some other means.
