Will i be able to keep the money? never had this happen

First Edition 04-08-2010 06:56 PM

This has happened to me a few times. If their account was limited, paypal does this while they can still get their filthy hands on it. Have you shipped the item yet? If you can prove tracking, you'll be able to keep it.

lulbert 04-08-2010 07:15 PM

actually i lied, but i sent it from an account that was limited a day after. sent it to my old account that i havent logged into on this ip address. Should i go ship package to that address? its my money and i want to keep it.

First Edition 04-08-2010 07:28 PM

I would. Tracking is a huge deal to paypal.

lulbert 04-08-2010 07:31 PM

ok will do man, so soon as i give them tracking they will release the hold or will i have to wait for the package to be delivered.

First Edition 04-08-2010 07:57 PM

It's not a normal hold, they just have to determine if it's a legit payment. To be honest, I don't know if they will release when tracking shows on the way or delivered. There should be a way to escalate it. Also, before you do anything, I would call paypal and ask about it. If you have a good story, it shouldn't be a problem.

lulbert 04-08-2010 08:47 PM

ok so what should i send out a package or envelope? its not my address, just a stealth one from a different state.

Yes you lied... you are slipping all over your story... And paypal knows.

What it sounds like you did was send money from one of your own accounts to another one of your accounts.... and paypal found out...

Nope.. The money is now on hold. You will never get the money. Dont bother shipping anything now.

lulbert 04-08-2010 11:22 PM

paypal doesnt know that i own the other account, i never logged into it on this ip or in the last 2 months on this computer. The money has been held for 3 people. my personal account, an ebay seller i sent a payment to, and eastbay. I sent payment to all 3 of them yesterday so since my account got limited they wanted to see if each transaction was legit.

So as first edition said all i need to do is ship something out to that address with tracking so i get my money.

OfficialGenius 04-08-2010 11:33 PM

It's weird they didn't limit both of them. They usually do, at least that's what others have said.

lulbert 04-08-2010 11:41 PM

why would they limit it? unless they knew i owned it. If that was the case they would limit 50% of the users accounts because im sure people have gotten money from stolen or even limited accounts.

Never had a problem with my regular account, been pretty safe with it. havent touched it since i went stealth at my house. Received large amounts of money for selling and never had a problem. its just a money hold, not account.

First edition knows what hes talking about but not sure how i go about sending to this random address. send a package with confirmation or a letter?

lulbert 04-09-2010 03:54 PM

Just shipped out a package to the address but it wont let me add the address, it says tracking number invalid format, try again.

what the hell is going on?

lulbert 04-09-2010 04:00 PM

i guess i got around it, clicked other and entered USPS and the tracking and it went through

Not sure but many people have stated that they have limited both of their accounts when either 1. Sending money directly or as an invoice or 2. Making a buy it now auction on ebay and paying themselves <<<<makes it like it's business.

Hate to say it but your going to be mad!

paypal is going to reverse the payment either way. once it's over $250 signature confirmation is required and since no one signed for it there going to reverse the payment back to the first account the payment was launched from.

lulbert 04-12-2010 12:48 PM

if it gets there and shows as delivered how can they complain? if the account was a real person and filed a claim then they can use that against me. it shouldnt be a problem, if it shows it was delivered thats all that matters.

lulbert 04-12-2010 09:31 PM

turns out the address on my stealth paypal wasnt a real address, package was undeliverable. is this gonna screw everything up?

oge 04-12-2010 10:56 PM

Yup same thing happened to me I scrambled to send a package and it was undeliverable and 7 days later PayPal said the funds was going to be returned to whoever sent it.(The other account)

lulbert 04-12-2010 11:27 PM

WOW, what garbage. seriously. i needed that money too

Killer Bee 04-16-2010 09:01 PM

one thing i have learned over the years when dealing with amazon or paypal is always assume the worst.
