PAYPAL & 180 days hold money hostage confusion
 

okay so they informed me that they will hold my money hostage for 180 days...now received letter last week after i asked when can i have my money..it's been almost 4 months now...and they stated to log on and confirm address and if want check sent to my name to downgrade my account from biz and they will send a check in few weeks...

okay, did all that (i am sure that wasn't probably brightest move but i am over this company and want the out of life)..so new email arrives making it sound like i just need to clarify some things regarding the closing of account..etc...

so question: is the deal with paypal..answer their KGB Interrogation questions and if they like what they hear they will give me my money...OR if i choose not to cooperate and answer nothing they ask then my punishment is wait the 180 days and maybe you will see some money...is it one or the other? or both? get money after 180 days AND answer questions?

You will get your money at the 180 day mark. How much are we talking about here? Is this account in your real info? I assume so because you said they were going to send a check to your address. It is very rare that people will get their money before the 180 day mark. Although it is most likely a waste of time have you called Paypal? What kinds of questions are they asking you?

I've never seen the withdrawal allowed before 180 days. The 180 day period comes from the length of time a bank is allowed to file a chargeback on a transaction.
