Paypal opened case against me! NOT the buyer but Paypal!

Hi guys,

I had a buyer send payment for an item he bought from me on Craigslist and Paypal opened a case against me! NOT the buyer but Paypal!

Which then they placed a hold on the funds anyway I provided the tracking # and it shows it was delivered and now a Paypal agent is reviewing the case, I want to know how long will I have to wait???

Thanks

Sounds like you triggered some sort of a review. Depending on the outcome, it can take as little as 3 days to get your money released, or as long as 180 days.

PayPal definitely sees something they don't like. Maybe it is the information you gave them, or it could be the transaction looks suspicious.

Was the transaction for Software or the p90x, Shaun Insanity, Your Baby Can Read, or other such products?

Hi Jeff

None of the items you said but it was for a catback, the buyer told me he just marked the "Goods" option when he sent payment

I don't know what a catback is, but is it highly counterfeited or commonly stolen?

It may also be an issue they have with buyer. They probably wouldn't tell you that. Remember, paypal takes care of paypal. If they open a case they don't trust someone here.

Jeff, a catback is part of an exhaust for a car or truck which I bought a few months ago but I decided to sell it

That very well could be it. It does not sound like you sold anything that would be deemed high-risk. Hopefully they will sort this out quickly.

Good luck!
