$6500 paypal claim provided tracking help

I sold a car through paypal but not ebay, the total was paid in full. The guy got nervous and started a claim. I sent him the title in the email and told the paypal people the tracking number which shows it was delivered but I am still waiting on a decision from paypal. The car is scheduled to leave on the 6th but the claim ends on the 2nd . the deal was not through ebay, and I did provide a tracking number. What do you think will happen?

Paypal usually doesn't cover outside of eBay, specially for high $ goods.
But call them up and let us know how it goes.

You have not sent car? Dont. Refund and cancel. This is too much money to be messing around with. Sell it locally. There is no reason to take this risk. Why would you risk so much money with PayPal? There are just way too many things that can go wrong here with PayPal. I'm sorry, but its just not smart.

Why??

I have to agree. Why would you use PayPal for payment for a car? #1 THE FEES ARE TOO HIGH! #2 The type of problem you are now having is all too common.

Do NOT ship the car, give him his money back in PayPal, and go to the DMV SOON and tell them you lost the title or it was stolen to get a replacement.

And providing PP with the tracking number of the title probably won't work anyway. Thats not what they want to know the status of. I can send titles all day long but not sending the car is the problem.

Try selling your car on Craigslist

Just a side word of advice - avoid Paypal for these types of transaction for their fees, their buyer protection policy, and potential to hold your funds for 180 days =(

Use EsCrow if you can or follow advice and keep it local.

Sell it local... advertise it on Craigslist or some other local websites...
