| | | MaxGKot | 09-15-2010 11:42 PM | PayPal horror and class action lawsuit So, just like hundreds of thousands of other people me and my business partner had our paypal account closed for no apparent reason. They gave us different answers each and every time we called them, ranging from them asking for the information about our suppliers to them needing to verify item deliveries. We spoke to a close personal friend of ours who happens to be a DA and his advice was to start a class action lawsuit against these crooks.
P.S. We've recorder each and every conversation with these idiots and have them exactly where we want them. |
Don't waste your time man. You are not the first to think of this. It's been done, and I don't know of any substantial losses for Paypal. |
A noble idea but as IDK has said, there are some ongoing or trying to get going.
Your first post is this? Ha welcome to the forum - way to get the blood boiling.
All the best with beginning stealth. Hope you will contribute more to the forum and learn in the process =) |
These don't work because they don't need a reason not to do business with you. Its not a right to have them deal with you. Its their call and its that simple
It sucks and tons of good folks have lost a lot of business for sure. I've personally been hurt by them a ton. But if a company doesn't want to deal with you, they don't have to. They don't keep the money. So sadly, a lost cause |
| jeffweico | 09-16-2010 06:29 PM | I wish that PayPal would change their ways, but I doubt that will ever happen.
As POD pointed out, there is nothing in the US constitution giving you the right to use PayPal or eBay. If they determine you are a risk, then they close the account. End of story.
The class action lawsuits that I am aware of mostly involve them holding money. The lawsuits claim it is a breach of contract.
But PayPal usually settles those out of court so that no precedent will be set.
I wish you luck, but I would be very surprised if you can find an attorney willing to take the case. Every business has a right to use risk management to mitigate any potential losses. And they do not need PROOF that you pose a risk, just the SUSPICION that you pose a risk. |
| MaxGKot | 09-17-2010 09:13 AM | I have a lawyer who's been with my family for years and she'll gladly take this case. You see, like I've already mentioned - we've recorded each and every conversation and have them hooked. I am going to look into the stealth a bit more and perhaps give it a try as well. |
| slapped | 09-17-2010 09:29 AM | I Agree with the Others Here,,,Another Lawsuit is NOT Going to Make Paypal Change Anything,,,Paypal will ONLY Change when they are Hurt by Revenue Declines Because of Less People Using their Services,,,,NOT Because of Losses From Lawsuits,,,
The REAL Key are the Antitrust Suits against Ebay,,,,NOT Paypal,,,,Force Ebay to Allow more Payment processors, or Allow the Payment Processors that Ebay Already allows to be on "EQUAL Footing" with Paypal,,,Now we are Talking Change,,,,Across the Board,,,,Then you WILL See Paypal Change,, |
| aking | 09-17-2010 09:48 AM | Sorry for your loss. The majority of the people here have been where you are, that's the sole purpose of this sight. The key is to be smarter than paypal and protect yourself and your hard earned money.
Welcome to the board. I too have lost a lot of money with paypal, but I can't say that I have lost any more in a long time and I have made the money back I lost plus more since Ive been on this site. Hopefully you might find this forum as beneficial as I have.
Good Luck!! |
Precisely put Slapped - allow other payment processors. |

I forgot about the Antitrust suits. It's funny how competition changes things. If eBay were forced to allow other payment processors - on an equal footing - suddenly PayPal would have NICE and HELPFUL customer service reps who would go out of their way to help you. They would probably have an 800 number on their front page uring users to call with any problems, 24/7/365 instead of hiding their phone numbers.
