Welcome to the forums =)

Sadly Paypal is the ebay customer's preffered way of payment in general. But you can try Paymate or Moneybookers to start then open up a merchant processor like authroize.net or CcNow to accept paypal payments.

You will have to manually invoice your customers and hope they take it.

All the best.

(AT) sdot:

1. try to save your current account info by providing paypal all the details they need including your ssn if you can back up what your selling.

2. if your using stealth ebay and paypal then try to save it also by giving them what they want.

3. merchant accounts is a whole different story and you will be reporting the income to the irs. search on google "merchant accounts".

good luck!

Good advice above. Another thing to remember about merchant accounts (I have one) is that if you use it with ebay, you have to use their payflow payment gateway which is governed by paypals terms. Esentially, even if you use a merchant account, you're still bound by paypal's terms and subject to the same harassment.

I think propay may be a good alternative but I'm not too sure what the details are.

propay sucks you need 100 feedback and be a powerseller for them to accept you.

Propay is easy to set up if you don't set it up as an ebay account. You need to be creative but you can still utilize it with ebay, you just need to invoice the customer after the close of sale with a propay invoice for payment.

One will need to list their paypal account with their listings but state in the listing (somewhere at the TOP) that you accept credit cards through a secure processor and to PLEASE wait for an invoice before rendering payment and can use the excuse that it will ensure accurate shipping charges. It works just fine.

I do believe that initially there may be holds with propay as well. I have an actual website that they were able to peruse for info and confirmation about what I sell and it may be more difficult if one does not have a website since they may wonder how you're selling but it is an alternative.
