Bank Alternative to 180 days? (read on)

Basically,if i keep my bank account open for 6 months. i am going to get charged by chase for doing nothing on the account. Is there a cheap alternative to this? I heard others who say they can buy a card that the money can be withdrawn to? I'd rather do this one time fee, then to keep an account open... that i could just close as it is and reopen as a new account for a new stealth.

What are my optons? I know now paypal let's us add accounts while limited. So closing this account out is an option.

Is it the green dot cards or whatever that has a bank account on it? Worst case scenerio i would just open a new bank account in 6 months...But seems like hassle(some banks make you wait 3 months to close an account without a fee)

That's not always the case.

You should just close the bank account so it doesn't get eaten away by fees. Then re-open one a few days before you know your 180 day is up.

Once your 180 is up, you can add and confirm a new bank account, and withdraw to it.

Then you get your cash in your bank account, withdraw the cash and close the Chase account.

the problem with that is. If i open the account a few days just for the xfer... I will need to keep it open another 90 days or so before the bank lets me close it, unless i pay the $30ish fee

Some banks have that policy where if you close an account within 90 days, there is a fee - true.

You need to find a bank that has free checking with no fees - not sure which ones work in the States but maybe Bank of America?

Bank of America will allow you to do this, and Suntrust...THOSE I KNOW FOR SURE. (however suntrust MUST keep 100 usd in it until you close the account)

Suntrust told me... if you have an account open with a 0.00 balance it automatically will close after 21 days
