Bought Something From Walmart.com Paypal Got limited But Payment Went Through
 

So this is what happened. Like I have been posting about buying stuff instead of w/d from an account. Well this is my latest story:
I needed a brand new laptop to give to my brother for Christmas. So when I got some product in, I sent an invoice to one of my buyers. Came out to about $360. Invoice was paid. Went and shipped it out. Paid shipping out of my pocket. Got home and went to walmart.com. Bought one of those small acer computers. It came out to like $300 with tax and shipping. Now here is the weird part, after payment. I checked my balance and it was pending. Like it always is after payment. A few hours later, I checked again and BAM. Limitation! But payment complete.
Now usually when I get smacked with a limitation, My payment gets reversed. Whether its a bank transfer, payment to another ebayer, etc.
Could this be because it was a big corporation?

I have been purchasing items from walmart.com and toysrus.com using my paypal balance for the past month. Well in the excess of $1,000 for christmas presents. I didnt get limited or anything. It might be a limitation because of something else entirely. I wouldnt think it was because you used the money to shop at walmart.com. But not sure why it happened to you.

i had this happen to me like 3-4 months ago with 2 mp3 players a total of $230 dollars or around there.. i didn't get the payment pending or reversed but i got a limitation like 10 minutes later but payment went through.

Could it be because I used almost my whole balance?? Has anybody ever had a payment reversed from a big corporation like walmart.com?

This happened to me with kmart 8 months ago, I still dont know what happened but I did put my home address as the shipping address on the kmart site so I am pretty sure the account was linked.

Maybe it's because you spent all the money right after you got paid. Paypal may be worried about covering their butts in case the buyer opens a dispute.

Yeah could be But see I am not worried about the limitation, I was just curious if you pay to a big corporation like walmart.com, can it be reversed? I was seeing if anybody has had a reversal from a big company.

When u guys pay with paypal do u pick up in store or do they ship to the address on paypal? or can u pick what address to ship to

I had stuff picked up in store once, I used my stealth info for walmart then had it shipped to another state where I live then they give you an option to add a friend to pick-up, so then I added me to the walmart account.

I had it shipped to my house. On the checkout page for walmart.com it asks you for an address to ship to not the one on the paypal account. On the one that got limited, I had a site to store. Again my name on the checkout page and went and picked it up. No problem.

cool i will have to rember this if i get to where i cant w/d paypal funds i could just buy stuff from stores :) like walmart giftcards ;)

Yup thats exactly what I am doing. Instead of w/d slowly, I just got 8 of those $100 american express cards. Got them in two days because I paid $15 for the shipping. But I used them everywhere!

What Amex card is this?

It was american express gift cards

Does paypal see what you buy or just the amount?

I would ASSUME (99% sure) just the amounts pod. They see everything like a BANK. Banks can see where, when, how much money was sent. BUT NOT FOR WHAT.

Yeah see I tried it again and bought all those gift cards. I was just asking if anyone has had a reversal from walmart.com. I used to w/d money to my bank and hated doing it slowly. And not being able to guarantee I would even get it because of being limited. Now I can just buy all these and use them like cash. I just hope I dont run into a reversal.

I dont think PayPal would mess with Walmart on payment reversals unless absolutely necessary. Its a pretty big client and there would be no games like we deal with to be certain. A lot of what PP does is "just to be safe"... They started messing with Walmart they would be tossed to the curb pretty quick

However, you could face a limitation for sure if all you do is buy from Walmart. But I would be shocked if any payments were reversed once made. if they were it would be really soon after payment, not next day

Yeah I made a payment to walmart.com. Status was pending. Then shortly later got limited but payment complete. So I guess one account for $400-$800 kind of seams worth it to me. It was not even bank verified just vcc.

So when you buy off walmart the payment is held in check at "pending" for a little while? How long usually does it sit pending?

Sounds to me like they try and avoid the need to reverse. So my guess is once its completed thats that

Large retailers taking PP is a nice bonus for buying stuff instead of withdrawing.

Yup! I typed in online business that accept paypal I found a grip even best buy!

I tried this today and Walmart canceled the orders. It was for American Express Gift Cards. They said they wanted to verify that I authorized these orders with my Paypal account. I think it was because I was shipping to a address different from the stealth account address.

I have made 3 purchases from Walmart.com

Here are the stories:

I bought a couple of accounts and started selling like crazy on eBay. I made about $3000 in a week just on one account. I go ahead and spend ALL of the money on Walmart... It says pending for about 1 hour. And next thing I know, I get an e-mail saying the transaction was successful. Cool.

I went ahead and bought 2 more accounts, started selling. Received $800 in my first sale. I went ahead and bought a laptop from Walmart.com and again it went through! So feeling good about myself, I continue selling and receiving money on this new account until I decided to try my luck with Macmall.com and thats when I got limited. The payment was reversed and I was permanently limited.

So I go to my other back-up account and I receive another payment for about $850 but as soon as I go to Walmart.com and order something, the payment goes to pending status and hours later, I get limited and Paypal wants SS#, they unverified me, etc. The payment gets reversed. Walmart.com emails me saying Im going to get a refund back into my paypal. WTF? I don't know what I did wrong. I followed all the rules and I used store pick up.

The only rule I didn't follow, was to start off slowly. I crashed and burn FAST. Questions? Ask me. I know I'm forgetting some details...

I too have gone the Paypal/Walmart route, but there is a magic amount at which WalMart will hold/cancel the order if they cannot reach you for confirmation. Not sure what the amount is, but something triggers a hold with Walmart on the orders. $300-400 orders seem safe, but get over 1k it gets iffy.

I don't understand why your 3rd attempt failed. What did you do different from the first 2 things you mentioned? It looks like it was the "store pick up" that triggered the limitation, not sure but all of this is very interesting.

Big companies like that will get their money for their items. They have an agreement w/ PP I think about these types of problems.

And you do this for stealth accounts? They use which address - the one on pa yp al to ship? Or the one you enter in website...

Are the addresses on all 3 accounts in similar locations? Like, if the first 2 accounts were in California and the store pickup was in Cali... but the 3rd account is in S. Carolina and the store pickup was in Cali it may have triggered something.

One thing I have learned in years on Ebay/Paypal is that the big payments will get you every time. DO NOT send large payments anywhere you just increase your chance of your account getting limited. Now if you do it slowly it is possible. Also make the same kinds of payments like $150, $200, $115.00 etc. Don't make your usual $200 payment then make a $1100 payment that will send up red flags every time. I use to send all my money to my bank account. I did the same thing every time. I would send at least $1000 each time. I did this with several PP accounts. None of these accounts ever lasted more than 3 months. Spread out your payments with a lower amount $200 or less and you will see how long your PP account will last.

I take it this is because larger amounts of money usually have to go through a different security check compared to smaller amounts.

Anyone know if this is true, any inside information? :D

I tried this and got a collection letter not from walmart, but from another company that they had sent my product, but paypal denied there money later on and they want me to pay them. It works 99%, but don't do it if your gonna screw the company. It happened to me because i made a mistake which im not going to go into. :)

I thought it was pretty easy I learned that you for the most part have to be verified to do it. I have tried this on about 10 non verified accounts and only worked on 4 of them the rest walmart refunded money

I tried this last week and got into a right mess, sent an invoice, paid and pending, the company sends out the item then BAMN reversed and limited. I had to refuse delivery of the item. It must of set pending for the best part of 24 hrs
