does anyone know if you are still able to empty your verified and confirmed paypal account by buying money orders from walmart with the paypal debit card? i saw a post that ebayhatelove had up a couple of months ago.

Walmart is the only place I know that will allow you to purchase money orders by debit card instead of cash. I haven't tried it with my paypal debit card, but I have another debit card with a $500 debit daily limit and have tried to go beyond that with NO luck at walmart for a money order.

i'm going to give it a try. if my paypal account stays up i will aply for the debit card, and then try to empty the account that way.

Does paypal ask for your social security number when you try to get one of their debit cards with your paypal account?

i don't think so because i just tried to get one, but you have to make sure the credit card you have on file with them has an address where you can receive the debit card. the problem i just ran into though is that the paypal account has to be opened for at least 60 days before you can aply for the debit card.

Ok great! My CC on file has an address attached where i can receive the card. Gotta wait about another 2 weeks then for the 60 days.

do you have a ss# attached to your paypal account? if not have you been putting a lot of money through your account? no limitations yet?

I buy usps money orders with my paypal card. Then I can make it out to myself and if they have the funds... cash it at another post office.

If you deposit the Money Orders in your bank....most release the funds the next day.

Huh? The paypal debit card is also an atm card so why can't you just go to an atm and withdraw the money? It really does not make any sense at all to buy money orders with it.

Well, the atm card--you can get 2 of them, $400 limit per day each,, so thats $800/day...if your acct has more than that--- well, theres a secret to getting $3,000 out in an hour, i made a post last month in members section i believe.. :)

They also have an outside company---verifies too much debit card use..What a Surprise??? Even an atm ck balance triggers it... :)

so do you have less of a chance getting limited if you are using the debit to purchase money orders than if you were actually withdrawing money from ATMs?

I dont think it matters, the Verification svc, is the same as chase manhattan uses, they are just an anti fraud unit, they will just ask you- id you withdraw $100 on 2/1? did you make a bal inquiry on 2/2? its automated if you have the last 4 digits of the card and the phone number on file with pp.. takes only 2-3 minutes :)

Just realized I had an account that had come up on the 2month window to allow me to request the debit card. Just requested it today and should be here in a bit. What is everyones experiences with the debit card? I see the walmart money order process still works. I am a little hesitant because this card is not in my real name. Anyone had any problems with walmart asking for an id or anything like that (if its not your name on the card) Anyone ever been limited on an account that had a debit card attached for doing too much? I only will have 1 debit card but I plan on fully exploiting the $3000 limit if i can do it with no problems.

Good question. When I purchased money orders before using a debit card they have always asked me for a DL?

You have to use the Money order Machine at Walmart... Theres no "person" there..just U and the machine ..:)

I have a good $5000 thats going to come into the account I was going to spread it out but now since the debit card is on the way i figure ill wait and get that and then get the $5000 and cash it out

If I could get out $3000 the first day and $2000 the next that would be perfect because then i could still send out the items in a reasonable time. I just dont want to take out $3000 and get limited

I wish my Walmart had a machine for money orders....I have to stand in line at their 'money center' counter. But I've never had them ask for an id. But you must choose the debit card option and use a pin #. They don't allow credit card payments (In my area!). So I think I might be limited to the $400 debit limit. I'll try it as soon as my debit card from paypal comes in.
