Pay pal Horror stories.
If many users report this company to BBB for their abusive system, do you think they will lose their controlling power over us.

I so wish :amen:

Don't companies just pay off BBB for a high rating?

The BBB can only give a business a bad rating. They cannot force a business to change their policies.

There are only TWO things that can make eBay/PayPal change their ways.

First, they could eventually lose so much business that they have no choice.

Second, the government could step in and regulate them.

I don't think that either one of these things is going to happen. They have no meaningful competition, so even though most sellers HATE eBay, they continue to use them because eBay has the TRAFFIC that is necessary to make sales. Several companies have TRIED to offer an alternative, but none of them have any traffic. The ONE company that COULD do it is Google, but they have already said several times that they have no desire to run auctions.

And lawmakers generally don't like to make new laws regulating a business unless there is a pressing reason to do so, or unless there is overwhelming public support for such a law.

It's a two way street. They abuse it's members, and many members abuse them ;)
