My PayPal account got limited and wants my SS#
 

Hey all, this is my first post here and I hope I can get this figured out!

A while ago when I was like 16 or 17 (I'm 23 now) I was dealing with selling Video Game Virtual items. I ended up quitting and selling my entire video game account for like 1500$ on ebay. The buyer turned around and got his money back/scammed me about 2 months later. My paypal account was frozen. My SS# is tied up with that account.

About a 2 Years ago I started a new eBay account and Paypal using my Middle and last name as my full name, I had moved out, had a new phone number basically I was set.

Been selling on eBay actively for the past year, buying and flipping cell phones. No problems. I opened up a business bank account and also have a paypal debit card which I have had for over a year.

I log in the other day and it says I need to give them my SS# and provide copy of drivers license and utility bill. If I dont do this within 15 days (I have 9 left now) I will lose the account.

If I provide my real social they will link me to my old account and I will lose everything.

Is there any way to get around this? I have an EIN# if that helps.


If I can't get around this, can my girlfriend create a paypal in her name and link it with my eBay account?

I just don't want to lose my eBay account because I have 90+ feedbacks, top rated and power seller right now.

why you dont use a ITIN number instead?,call them and tell this guys you are not a US Citizen or legal resident.The rest you doing it right,Good luck :)

I have an EIN number for my business.

Will that be enough?

I called paypal and told them I wasnt a US citizen and had no social and they basically laughed and said that sucks.

If I create an account in my girlfriends name she will do all the verify stuff, will I get in any trouble with eBay?

maybe you can call the SS admin, tell them you lost your wallet with all your documents, feel vulnerable to identity theft, and see if they will cancel out your old number and issue you a new one. Worth a try. other than that, you may have to start over with a new account. Good luck.

Don't bother with SSA. You will not get a new SSN. How did you get a pp debit card last year? Didn't they ask for the last 4 digits of your social?

There's something you can try, but I want to know about the debit card first.

I dont really remember how I got the debit card, I think I have actually had it for longer than a year.


I dont want to mess with getting a new SS because that will create a whole ton of problems with other things.

I called and explained to them that I was here on a work visa and was having problems with no Social #.

He told me to fax a copy of my passport.

Obviously I wouldnt send in a US passport because that would mean im a US citizen.
