Paypal: What address to use next?

Ok so I have had 3 paypal accounts limited with no option to appeal and all 3 will be closed within the next 180 days. All three are in my name with my home address and my parents address. I had bank accounts opened for each of them all in my own name.

Luckily my ebay account is still operational. However, when I go to open a new paypal account, firstly what name should I use i.e. a made up name or a variation of my own name and secondly will paypal pick up on my name in the bank account details and limit this account as well?

Looking advice plz!

Well, whatever name you use if you link it to the existing Ebay account it will probably not last long. First of all why were your accounts closed?

You cannot use the addresses you already have if you are going to go stealth. Depends on which part of Ireland you live for alternatives (rural or urban).

I get the impression that you are hoping to keep the Ebay account going and just link a new PP account to it. I would suggest you consider dropping the Ebay account and start anew in stealth mode. The guide will tell you exactly what you need to do. Knowing as I do the broadband situation in Ireland are you broadband or dial up?

Now is a good time to go fresh, new and stealth. Any pp you attach is likely to get limited again - I have experienced this - not word the trouble if you want your money asap.

paypal account limited

In response the the above, my paypal accounts were limited because paypal software detected similar accounts with the same info. I tried to get it sorted out but they still wanted to shut me down and close all my accounts. I had no issues with any of the accounts and in fact my main personal one had been open for 8 years.

My current ebay account has no problems whatsoever so I am wondering if I were to set up a new paypal account and say I call myself Joe Bloggs but insert my correct name for the banking details, would paypal pick up on this and automatically link me to the accounts which are now limited?

Some say yes and some say no - for me it's a no brainer. Ebay and Paypal are one and the same and they know you have had three accounts frozen out that were connected to that Ebay account.

You have to decide if they are likely to be lazy or stupid and not link them back to you.

I think Clint Eastwood summed it up nicely " Do you feel lucky punk, well, do you?" (I'm just paraphrasing - not calling you a punk LOL)

For me it's not worth going to all the trouble of setting up a new stealth account just to lose it further down the line. At some stage you are going to have to set up a new Ebay account - your decision has to be whether it is now or later

Good luck with it

@worththewait - it is very important that you learn how to set up new fresh stealth accounts unlinked to ANYTHING. Simple way is to get the guide or, bit harder, read a lot of posts and ask questions.

The thing is many of your questions have prob been asked countless times so you may get the cold shoulder.

You are at a good bridging point where you have only lost 3 accounts. People have come by with so many linked accounts and thousands of $'s stuck in PP and go on a RANT.

Your attitude seems good so I wish you all the best.

Edit: Have to add this...@GTran, how many vodkas done as of now? ha

Yeah I have the guide. I just cant get my head around some of the stuff. I suppose it doesnt help that my ISP is static. I emailed them and they cant change it to a dynamic IP.

If i was to switch routers, would my IP still be the same because my ISP is static?

I appreciate all the help BTW.

GrannyT 06-22-2011 10:07 AM

Static IP is not good for stealth. (In fact it's very very bad) What area are you and what is your cell phone coverage like? You may want to think about changing your ISP. I lived in County Clare many years ago so I understand some of the problems associated with Ireland. PM me if you need to.

IP will not change if static just by changing routers. You need dynamic - go for those dongle things or prepaid broadband.

Imakemoney 06-22-2011 11:37 AM

As previous posters state static IP is bad for ebay.

A dongle as rsot states is one option.

Or you could use a dynamic ISP - Does Sky have coverage in Ireland? they offer a dynamic broadband service. BT I believe is also dynamic.

GrannyT 06-22-2011 12:18 PM

BT is the best but I'm not sure about their coverage in Ireland. Outside of Dublin, Cork and Galway Broadband can be pretty sketchy. I lived there some years ago but it was all dial up then. Dial up maybe another option OP. Fact is if you are going to try and go stealth you have to get rid of that static IP

As above, or look into Mobile Broadband Dongles as mentioned. They can be very practical for stealth as well :)

worththewait 06-23-2011 09:50 AM

Thanks guys.

I live in the north. Sky, BT etc are they all dynamic?

Mobile broadband dongles, I think they generate a new ip every time they are rebooted?

GrannyT 06-23-2011 10:01 AM

Oh you're laughing - simply change over to BT and you are good to go:pop2:

Yes a mobile dongle will generate a new IP each time it reconnects.

The best way of finding out if an ISP is dynamic from now, is to not ask us but ask the ISP :p

Makes sense.
