Use of a Paypal personal account
 

My paypal account was limited about 10 years ago. I just recently started selling again and am using a merchant account to accept payments. My selling has gone well and there hasn't been any problems.

I have moved since my paypal account was limited but I have contacted Paypal since my move. They are aware of my real address and the limitation. I had asked them if I could use their services again. They told me that since I had a limited business Paypal account, I could only have a personal account. Here is what is confusing to me. They know who I am. They know that my business account was limited and know my new address. Are we allowed to have a paypal personal account if the business or premier account has been limited? I am not sure if I just haven't been caught yet or I am following paypal's rules.

My sales have been going well and I am a top rated seller. Would it be any possibility of contacting paypal and showing them the proof that I am a changed seller and inquire if they would remove the limitation? I can't lose the paypal personal account as I use it to print USPS labels as well as purchases. Has anyone had any success in asking Paypal to remove this limitation?

I would appreciate any input into my questions. I love my merchant account but wouldn't mind incorporating Paypal into my sales.

I wouldn't have told them about my limitation from 10 years ago. PayPal don't care if you now have 5 stars in all your DSRs and are a Top Rated Seller because if you were permanently limited before you're still a criminal in their unforgiving eyes.

Personally, I would have stayed under the radar.

PayPal won't remove the limitation until you give them the documents they need, and if your limitation cannot be appealed against forget about it.

Though you could open a new PayPal account on your new address and use it on eBay just be sure to change your I.P Address and User account. Also if you haven't read the eBay Stealth book I really recommend it!

Thanks for the info. So just to be clear, I shouldn't be allowed to have a paypal personal account if my paypal business account was limited 10 years ago?

You really should read the eBay stealth it gives you all the information you need about how to get back on eb ay.

Basically just change your name, ip address, address and credit card. Once that's done you should be all good

The Stealth book is great but does not answer questions like this. I also have a premier account which is limited but also have a personal account which is not??

So this means you can use a new paypal account with an existing ebay account - but the paypal account can be in a different name?

Or do the ebay account details need to changed over to match the new paypal account details?

limitation will not be removed i have 4 accounts limited now i have ebay stealth im loving it!!!!! yoiu should not of told them you where limited ten years ago they will link you sooner or later if you have given them all your details
