| | | dj9928 | 10-20-2011 11:11 AM | Stealth Account Limited So I set up a brand new eBay and Paypal account following the stealth guide, new IP, new user name, new address, voucher credit card etc, I had been selling fine, I had 3 previous small sales and bought 2 items, I just bought and sold rubbish to get a few sales under my belt for the main event to sell my mobile phone.
So I sold the the phone, the buy waited 2 days to pay, he had no sooner paid than bamn limited, no 21 day hold or anything just limited with the following emails. Quote:
PayPal periodically checks the validity of members' email addresses, phone numbers and postal addresses to ensure security and prevent potential issues with inactive accounts.
If PayPal does not have current or accurate information on file for your account, we may be unable to confirm your identity. This may make it difficult for you to recover a forgotten password or to receive money sent to you via money request or posted cheques.
Please make the changes indicated above today, or simply choose to close this account and open a new one. You can even use the same email address to open a new account as long as that email address is valid.
If you do not wish to receive email reminders in the future, please edit your settings in the Email Preferences in your Profile.

This limitation cannot be appealed against. | So what the hell went wrong there? eBay is fine no issues. I went to refund the guy and it also wouldn't refund out of the balance, it took it from the bank account so gonna have to cancel the direct debit. |
/quote I had 3 previous small sales and bought 2 items
Prob not enough to solidify the account for a phone sale. |
dj9928 | 10-20-2011 03:13 PM | At the end of the day its a phone. I'm not trying to sell drugs, a warhead, an orphaned child, its a phone. This must be about the 4th attempt and even with stealth it didn't work. Did you notice it didn't even ask me to submit anything? Just straight of limitation can not be appealed against. |
Imakemoney | 10-20-2011 03:17 PM | I can understand your frustrations. But due to the scammers out there they have increased security to these levels.
You went to quick im afraid.... |
dj9928 | 10-21-2011 10:20 AM | I have found the cause of the limitation and hopefully this will warn others.
I used a random registration address, it was a chinese down the road. However I changed the delivery address to a neighbours address, I used this address as the postman always leaves her parcels with us as she's at work all day so I figured i''l use that as the postage address. PayPal told me there is strong links linking me to an old account and this has to be it, it can't be any thing else as IP,Computer, bank account, card etc etc are all totally new and stealth. So be warned!! |

| Sad for that. |
gismo | 10-26-2011 01:02 AM | Wow, you sold a phone and it got limited. I made a dumb move last week and sold an iPad 2 on one of my stealth accounts. Nothing happened though, I was lucky. I received a positive feedback :). |

"EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION"
Its amazing really, if PayPal would just step back and take a look at my situation, I have never once messed anyone about, but do they give a **** of course not. You were lucky getting rid of an iPad without hassle. |

Laritha | 10-26-2011 12:51 PM | Did your neighbor's address have the same street name? I'm guessing you tried to sell the same item more than once using different accounts with no success. Maybe you also used the same photos and description? |

I think its just the matter of same model of phone, same street and linked. Quote:

I knew it was that phone! I'm pretty sure that's what triggered the limitation. High risk item that is known to be f@ked + high amount on a new account.
Btw, I've been wanting that phone but not for that price!:D |
