| | | justwondering... | 01-06-2012 11:11 AM | 180 days have come and gone. No money though I have an old account that was shut down. I counted back and it has been over 180 days but they still haven't released my money. I emailed them and they told me I have to have the limits lifted from my account to get my money out. . I dont want to use the account, just want my money and the account can be closed for all I care. What should I do?
Thanks. |
| justwondering... | 01-06-2012 11:14 AM | Just came accross this:
From Paypal's user agreement-
Under the heading “Limiting accounts” the second sentence of clause 18.1 as follows:
"We may take these actions for longer than 180 days because we are prohibited by law from releasing funds or unrestricting your Account."
is replaced with
"We may take these actions for longer than 180 days because we reasonably believe the risk still exists or are prohibited by law from releasing funds or unrestricting your Account."
----
WHAT?? Prohibited by law from giving people their money..!! |
That's odd.... But with pp you never know..Please keep us updated |

Thanks. | Have you communicated this to paypal? That you are not going to resolve the matter?
From my dealings, this is what you need to do.
Bit of mixed info about this. But users I have helped have done this and eventually got their funds.
In the time your funds were being held, paypal changed their T&S 3 times. There have been instances where funds have not been released, and/or penalties applied that take the funds in any case.
Contact paypal and get an up to date instruction from them. Proceed after that:juggle: |
Im having the same issue. Is it 180 days from the last transaction or 180 days from the email that says the account has been limited?
Other PP account opened fine for me so I am confused.
Thanks |
| elitepowersales | 01-13-2012 05:46 PM | Yes, it looks like Paypal is starting to try to keep funds on limited accounts indefinitely. |

Thanks | 180 days from the last chargeback or last dispute on the account. SO if you had a dispute 1 month ago go back to your account in 5 months |

Technically it`s 180 days from limitation. |
| imjustme | 01-16-2012 10:54 AM | It's 180 days from when they informed you per email that your funds would be held for 180 days and released after 180 days. That's what happened with me. |
| jbluntz | 01-16-2012 11:02 AM | They usually don't send you an e-mail saying your funds are available until about a couple weeks after the 180 days, that's how it happens with all mine, anyway. |
| surcerouche | 01-16-2012 11:10 AM | Thanks for starting this thread and for the replies. I now have hope. I had the same thing happen to one of my old stealth accounts. I went through some of my old paperwork and found this account. I logged into PP and I cannot get the funds because it is still limited. It has a couple hundred in it, so I thought PP was just going to hold it indefinitely, but seeing some of your comments. I guess if I go back to my gmail and find the email stating the start of the limitation and then count the days, it should be released shortly.
Makes me want to go back into all my previous accounts and double check them. Thanks guys and gals. :cheer: |
| jackd | 01-20-2012 06:22 AM | Just wondering has anyone was unlucky to get funds after 180 days and if yes what were the reasons ?
Have 3 limited acc's at the moment a bit worried.
1 of them is 45 days limited and had 0 disputes, 100% FB, so i have sent polite letter, trying my chances, other 2 will try 45 days after last sale. |
I have been ok with my accounts that were previously waiting 180 days to access money (few remain so knock on wood for those). |
| Christianm | 01-31-2012 11:03 PM | i get dozens a month unlocked no probs always get cash we talkin 100 to 1000 visa or bank withdraw.
To clarify 100% its from the last chargeback or transaction so any refund etc not form the 180 days email now then you can withdraw. |
| Christianm | 01-31-2012 11:05 PM | on the law front this is new, for my EU accs i have to send id to get the money even after 180 days has past and the the withdraw option where it says continue appears! This has come in just recently if you ask any of them reps they will tell you. |
| justwondering... | 02-26-2012 12:22 PM | So just coming back to update. I was able to get my money out. However, when I tried to close the acc. They said I need to resolve my issues first.. Uhhh. What ever. Just left it be. |

How do you get the account unlocked after 180 days you say you do dozens a month.
I have sent off ⊗⊗⊗⊗ UK driving license and Bank statement genuine. The account is in my 13yo sons name, I have to ⊗⊗⊗⊗ the Driving License as hes obviously not 18...lol
They have rejected the Driving License, maybe they did a Driver Number Check.... Now asking for Passport/National ID or other Government ID.
Any help would be much appreciated, my lad wants his money out after waiting 180+ days... |

You'll have to get creative, afaik that's the only method. |
