Can PayPal limit your account without giving you an email about their action???

Hi, I have a stealth Paypal account which is linked to my stealth eBAY account. This morning, upon logging into my Paypal account, I was stopped with this notice sayin my account has been limited. Startled by it and not knowing how that randomly came along, I checked to see why and it says they need more info on the funds received or withdrew on Feb 16, 2012. I checked my history and I have no transaction for that day, just the day before on the 15th.

Also I checked my email and I did not receive any email from Paypal. I thought Paypal usuaully send you an email when they limit your account for some sort???

That sounds fishy to me!

Also I logged on to see if my eBay account was affected in any way and its still up and running with no problems!

Any thoughts on what the problem seems like here?

Thanks in advance!

Happens all the time - one stays active, other gets limited/suspended.

If the limitation is there when you log into the account then it is real.

As rsot says, either pp or eb can get limited without the other.

Diorkid 02-21-2012 02:55 PM

So they just go around making BS claims to limit accounts!

They didn't even send me an email nor give me to make a dispute on this case. Does that happen?

Also, it is possible to create another stealth Paypal account to go with the stealth eBay account that was originally with the stealth Paypal account they limit?

I'd hate to see a good eBay account wasted.

Many posts about it - you can BUT expect that pp to go down sooner or later since you are trying to get through the linked up old pp that has already been killed.

Thanks

Is there like any alternative way, for instance, can I offer another form of payment on that ebay account, instead of risking the chance to open another paypal account?

seanws30 02-21-2012 03:34 PM

not anymore. lots of hoops to jump through to accept other payments. although you can accept money orders. but according to one of ebays MANY policies you have to offer one form of electronic payments

rsot 02-21-2012 03:46 PM

Sure - you could accept Moneyb ookers or Prop ay as alternatives I figure.

Diorkid 02-21-2012 03:49 PM

Welp .. there goes a very good eBay account down the drain :(

I guess I'll just have to wait 180 days and hope they'll release over 500 $ I have in that Paypal account.

Diorkid 02-21-2012 03:54 PM

Hmmm .. I'll try Propay, although, I suppose it'll be linked with my limited Paypal account instantly?

I know using any alternatives won't be a long lasting thing, I am aware of that, however, I want to use that account to list just a couple more things.

seanws30 02-21-2012 03:54 PM

500... amateur

ive got over 10k between 5 accounts. im sure im nowhere near kango, but its still a lot

rsot 02-21-2012 03:59 PM

@Diorkid, prop ay and payp al are COMPLETELY different services so, no relation to limited pp.

Diorkid 02-21-2012 04:14 PM

They will release it within on the 180th day, right? or is it not exactly guaranteed whether they will?

Diorkid 02-21-2012 04:17 PM

Yes, they are completely different, yet, if I use the same name as the old Paypal with a different bank, I'm thinking eBay will catch on very quick, rather than later at some point?

BiN4RY 02-21-2012 04:39 PM

Name on bank account should be one of the last things to worry about when it comes to a stealth account. Some says Paypal can see your name when funds are added from the bank account, some says they cannot due to government regulations. If you're absolutely paranoid about it, just don't ever add funds from your bank.

.

Stop being naive.

It's PAYPAL. They do what they want.

Yes, they limit accounts without reason or explanation leaving users stranded (just as you are). They specialize in poor treatment.

Regarding a stealth paypal and not wasting a good ebay then dot do that. Might not work long term. I never suggest that option.

You could look at other options.
Do you intend to resolve the limitation? That will be your key to all :ranger:
