Why is my account access limited?

Your account access has been limited for the following reason(s):

Nov X, 2012: We want to check with you to make sure that no one has logged in to your account without your permission.

Please take a moment to change your password and create new security questions. You should also take a look at your account information and recent transactions. Make sure that your account information (address, phone number, etc.) hasn't changed and that you recognize all of your recent transactions.

If you see a payment that you don't recognize, let us know by going to the Resolution Center. Click "Dispute a Transaction" to report an unauthorized transaction.


What could of triggered this? Different Ip? I delete cookies everytime I log in and log out.

Well, I got the same thing 2 days ago on my ebay account. Nothing happened but it had me reset my password and confirm my pets name.

Where did this silliness come from? How long have you done this for & why?

paypal (especially) like to be able to ID accounts. Having the user account with its matching cookies is the way to go.
Combination of different IP & no cookies means defensive reaction from paypal.


paypal are actually doing you a favor .... if your account had been hacked, they tried to protect you.

Dont delete cookies all the time. Keep them - use different user accounts for other accounts

I got this before. In my case, it was because the IP didn't match the accounts location it was under. Gave them a call and explained to them why that is and they took care of it right away.
