| thakid212 | 07-01-2008 04:54 AM | How to Avoid PayPal Limitation - no way to avoid it until you provide social security What can I do to Avoid being limited by paypal?
& what are somethings you can get limited for? |
divine422 | 07-01-2008 11:02 AM | If we all knew how to avoid limitation it wouldnt be a problem and we wouldnt be here. |
Exeneva | 07-01-2008 12:36 PM | You can get limited for A LOT of reasons. Read the Auction Stealth guide for that information. Basically, once money comes into your account you need to be wary. Wait a day, and then immediately retrieve it/withdraw to bank. Limitation can come quickly and swiftly and you don't want to be screwed in funds. Especially since Paypal does random credit checks and such. |
mantisinc | 07-01-2008 01:17 PM | Main thing is to make sure you are verified before you take part in any selling/withdrawal activities. This will reduce your chance of limitation, but it's almost certain that at some point you will get limited anyway. So expect it. |
thelizardking | 07-01-2008 01:30 PM | The question should really be "how to get the Limit Lifted?" because New Accounts are Limited at some point in the first couple months...once you beat that first Limitation you have alot for freedom... |
. "first couple months"
does that mean if u let a new acct chill for a couple months after being verified that you're less under the radar? |
divine422 | 07-03-2008 09:44 AM | No, its more like after its used for a bit, its limitated if not instantly depending on how much money you are trying to withdraw. If you create an account today, accept about $500 plus , try to withdraw, chances are you will get limited. Forget trying to avoid it, just be prepared for it so it can speed up the process of getting the limitation removed. |
mjstallion | 07-03-2008 10:36 AM | My last couple of paypal accounts, they asked for SSN right from the first limitation. Are you guys getting that to? Before I used to get limited and they'd ask for other stuff, but not SSN. |
jerkyboy1 | 07-03-2008 02:42 PM | my records show that if you set-up a new account and start using it to accept payment you will almost likely be limited within a very short period of time, maybe a day or 2-weeks. Also, after your first limitation you might be asked to confirm your location by phone which is not huge. After you lift your account from that you will most likely be limited again and asked for ssn after a little bit more selling $500-$1000,several weeks, or a withdrawl. This is where you're screwed unless you're using a real address with name and phone that matches. You can then call them and cry about it and if information matches up their is a 30% chance they will lift it. |
jerkyboy1 | 07-04-2008 03:32 PM | you could obviously do a slight name change and come up with a ss # but that is illegal or possibly add another user to the account if it is a business account and provide their ssn. |
jerkyboy1 | 07-12-2008 10:15 PM | another account lost to ssn. I lost another account with over $1500 today which sucks because they want ssn.
We need to all brainstorm and figure out a way to avoid or come up with a bulletproof excuse to have paypal remove the ssn requirement. |
ebay-sucks | 07-12-2008 11:10 PM | I dont ever see this changing, because they handle money they are going to do this forever I believe.
I got stung on pp accounts for 5k and 3k and do not allow any pp account to go above 200-300 unless I have huge sales amounts in one day and it goes out of reach for me to get all at once. This I avoid by having things end on different days and time so I can withdrawl, transfer or if I have it use a debit card to get it out.
Like EBHL does, go out in your undies and get your cash at 11:45 pm and 12:15 am, two different days and a chunk of cash out. |
ebayhateluv | 07-13-2008 02:55 AM | LOL... its TRUE--- I get it while the Gettins good...
>> ONLY , ONLY workaround Ive even "thought of".. besides Relatives...
>>We used to have Foreign exchange students come each and every summer to the us.
--For some QUIRKY reason--the ssa gives them a NEW ssn each and every year...why??
(we ONLY get 1)-- so maybe if u see one==they will RENT u their Ebay acct or pp acct till they return next year?? :) |
TMiles | 07-13-2008 06:32 PM | Without reading this thread, I must cheer Modee's comments......As Jim Cramer says, "Winning not whining." |
x2ruff4u | 07-14-2008 11:48 AM | I never had problems with my paypal accounts. I had so many disputes already its not even funny. But all is well on them. But the ebay accouns>.> sighhh |
juanguay | 07-15-2008 10:31 AM | How can I lift my withdrawal limit?? How can I lift my $500 bank withdrawal limit? I can't give my SS# or I will be found out. Am I just stuck with using my PP Debit Card and paying the ATM fees?
Thanks Juan |
ebayhateluv | 07-15-2008 10:33 AM | JUAN:
Have you given Paypal the CC Expanded use?
Or-added and Verified the ck acct yet? (the 2 small deposits)?
AND--
How about UPGRADING to a Business Premiere acct?? |
I have opened Business account, DBA name on my Paypal and Ebay accounts. Since I opened all checking accounts in business name, got a debit card in this business name also. All got verified and all...Yes, cost a few bucks to open business account but I believe it is worth it... You don't shuffle different identities between Ebay and Paypal. My only concern is if they ask for SS#... Can I just give them my tax number instead that is tied to this business name, or do I need to reveal my (suspended) identity and give them my real SS# or both? Anyone? I want to be ready when it comes? Thanks in advance! |
philly387 | 07-17-2008 06:46 PM | I sell products that go from either $10 each to $15 each and my accounts have never been limited. I withdraw about $100 each and every day and have never had an account limited...Maybe if you are selling things over $100 or so, that might be the problem. |
ebayhateluv | 07-17-2008 07:12 PM | HI: to dovetail into what Philly387 said:
--I have 1 Paypal acct thats been up for nearly a year now--it has a debit card.
--They DO NOT have a ssn on file.
--it has NEVER been limited..
>> Difference between this acct and my others??
Largest Sale was $39.95... Largest WEEK--was like $209..
BUT--I buy from this acct--which averages $600-$800/week..
>> I had been thinking a while back--that the BUYING volume--if it surpasses your sales volume--avoids limitation?
Maybe Coincidence?? :) |
I am buying way less than I am selling and I am selling designer items, (NOT ⊗⊗⊗⊗!) and they are not cheap..and I am not even making big profit.I had no problem with PayPal so far, but I worry that if I sell $2000 item and try to transfer the money they may ask my social.. So far they did not... and I have business account and tax number.. What should I do if they ask SS? The PayPal is in business name, not my own. If I give them my EID number do I still need to give them my social? Does anyone know? Thanks. |
GreenBean | 07-17-2008 09:12 PM | Modee has answered this before for you and everyone else. Let me give you a paraphrase of his reply: 'Yes. Down the track it is probable that you will be asked to supply the SSN. Only companies of the top 500 escape this':(
There is no way of telling you when this could happen.Maybe you might consider a merchant account and work around paypal with that?. | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:44 PM. | |
