Paypal limited because of Rapidgator???
 

I just got limited with paypal because I was a subscriber to Rapidgator. Has anyone else had this problem. What can I do to get my account unlimited?

Why do you think it was rapidgator that caused the limitation?

Explain why. PayPal allows subscriptions to sites

Was this a recurring one? Had you had issues and not enough funds etc

There can be no other reason other than that. I'm not a reseller for rapidgator either.
This was found when I was checking out why I was limited, it came from Rapidgator.

“PayPal just informed us that our PayPal account is closed due to the high risks of processing file sharing payments,” RapidGator announced. According to the site’s operators this may very well be the end of the file-sharing industry.

PayPal has frozen the cyberlocker’s funds for 6 months and new users can no longer make payments through PayPal. The ban probably means that “affiliates” can’t be paid through PayPal either.

Perhaps because RG was sued into oblivion along with many other file lockers engaging in ill/egal activities.

Mark my words, the days of easily sharing copyrighted files online are coming to an end. The movie studios have grown tired of waiting for the government to do something about it and are taking matters into their own hands. Of course, they will never stop piracy COMPLETELY, but they can certainly make it much more difficult.

As you now know, when court orders fail to shut down a site, the movie studios can threaten to sue payment processors and cut their funding off that way.

Have you used the pp for other activities than just RG? Have you accepted payment for digital reselling? Just ideas tossing out

What was the exact reason for limitation (in the email they sent)?

avaxlover brings up a good point. Are you SURE the limitation was because of Rapidgator? Or are you just guessing?

If this WAS due to Rapidgator, my best GUESS is that PayPal wants to be able to show - in case they are ever sued for facilitating payments for illegal services - that they did everything they could reasonably do to put a stop to it. Although cancelling user accounts is a bit heavy-handed. If it were ME in charge, I would have closed Rapidgator's account, but just sent warnings to their customers that such services were illegal and that if they continued to use PayPal to pay for such services they could lose their account in the future.

Nothing random about Paypal....especially when it comes to blocking sites that engage in "File Sharing" of illegal material.

In their (paypal) eyes, these types of sites can lead to themselves getting sued by Movie, Music Studios for allowing people to pay for illegal activities.

Here is an article on TorrentFreak detailing PayPal's (and Visa/MC) shutting down the cyberlockers. There is another article stating that VPN and any anonymizer services will be next.

I doubt anyone hates PP more than I do (pending $15K from them right now) but having a MERCHANT service ban a type of business is very common.

I can't remember the last time ANY merchant service would accept payment for credit repair companies.

I don't disagree with PP from denying Future filesharing companies, or even shutting down PP accounts from filesharing companies. BUT the PP a$$holes seem to think it is reasonable/good business to also limit all customers of services with no warning or prior notice.

Would it be so hard to send notices to all customers and state if you continue to use these services with PP we will shut you down? That would be professional but instead they act like a 6th grade bully pushing around a 1st grader. grrrrrrr

Update: I just read the article from posted link. This shutting down of filesharing companies war was made from Craigslist against all CL posters about 2 or 3 years ago. After about a dozen law suits against each Poster software company they are still in business. If they were smart they would simply see what CLAD G is doing and jump on it.

Furthermore, there are signs that other payment systems are taking the PayPal approach. King says that Moneybookers/Skrill, HiPay, AlertPay/Payza, 2CO, Paxum and CCBill are now all refusing to accept payments for file-hosting sites.

Paypal doesnt allow filesharing. SO you can not buy from rapidgator via Paypal, you must contact to Rapidgator reseller to buy it.
