Paypal asked me to confirm location
 

Today, paypal limited my account. It asked me to confirm location.

When I follow the steps, I was asked to add credit card.

I already had a gift card in it. Never mind, I added another one(I registered it to the same post code). But I got a message: You have not added a credit card.

I wonder whether it would deny my third gift card if I continue to add ..

My paypal address and name are all ⊗⊗⊗⊗, what can I do ?

You need to get a gift card registered with the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ info on it and apply it to your paypal account. If you already have that one on file, try it again.

What I used was vanilla mastercard . I can only register post code on it.

I wonder whether paypal ask for more than that.

HI: Usually to confirm location-- the easiest is the Telephone call--can u get a tracone from walmart and redirect to your landline??

the registered phone number is a smart ring number. the main phone number of that line is associated with my suspended ebay and paypal accounts.

If I call, paypal will tell who I am.

Recently I registered several ebay and paypal accounts with ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name and address, also with virtual phone number. Although I keep those records on file, but sometimes I could not figure it out.

When ebay or paypal call me , I always use the standard answer: "Yes , It is his(her) phone number, he is not in, can I take a message"

It worked 2 times. But It did not work yesterday. The lady from Paypal told me that she would send email if James was not at home.

That was what happened.

By the way, most of the guys from ebay and paypal are quite rude while calling us. They were talking like a captain to a soldier. They forgot to say thank you...

I just added another giftcard which has only post code registered.

The following is the message:

You have not added a credit card to your account, the phone location confirmation process has been cancelled

What can I do ?

If I call using my home phone, it will not work, because my home phone is blacklisted.

If I call them using my frined's home phone, will that be ok?

My registered phone number is a virtual one from vonage.

I would be very thankful if someone can give me a tip

I am not sure whether vnumber is available to Canada. I am using Vonage and tollfreeforwarding. You know, ebay can buy those small company and find what phone numbers we are using. Vonage will be a little safe.

I just had my credit card verified. It gave me a 4 digit number. I chose call now, and got a call from paypal. I added the 4 digit on my phone. paypal message said I have added an invalid number. What a confusion.

I clicked continue, and saw this message:

Confirm Location Results
Congratulations, you successfully confirmed that you own your credit card when you answered our automated phone call.

Thank you for using Confirm Location by Phone. Your PayPal account has been updated to reflect your successful completion.

Now my status is :

Anyone has experienced this before?

I had the same thing happen last week because of their high risk nonsense excuse. (highest item I sold was like $300, everything else under $50) I was verified but no card added. So I added the credit card, got their REVIEW status for 2 days, only to tell me that my business poses high risk and they terminated my relationship with them. I think it depends of the reason why they limited your account.

Question: the credit card you added was confirmed sucessfully, was it a cardx gift card ? Or a REAL card with your name and everything ? I want to open a brand PP account with a cardx, not sure if it will work ???

the problem could be my virtual phone confirmation. it says I added invalid phone code althouth I input the same as on the screen: 9574

I am from Canada too by the way. They wont ask us for our SSN number thats for sure, not here.

Question 1: Was it the first time you try with a cardx gift card (the one that work properly ) ? The other cards you try, they were the cardx ones that failed ? It seems that only certain gift cards will work, not all kinds.

Question 2: the reason you got limited, what was the message you received ? I had a friend who got back on no problem. But not with the high-risk message. What was the reason for your limitation ? I have to create a band new PP account since my last ⊗⊗⊗⊗ one got canned.

Tip: Also like Modee has stated NEVER link your ebay and PP accounts together.

But now your last card attempt was sucessful correct ? The invalid phone code you mentioned, that was for previous card attempt ? Usually if you enter a wrong code, they will mail you a letter which is not good if you have a gift card, since your mailing address obviously (usually) does not match the card's address.

But again.. what was the original message for limitation ?

He shared some info in the last couple versions, alluding to convenience stores in Canada that sell some type of cards that definitely work up there...

Yes it's those cards we are talking about here, but - even now it seems some does not work anymore. I heard the cardx ones Mike refers to in his guide MAY not work anymore.. abusing-ebay made references to some of his cards not working, but the last one did.. (cardx) I'm not sure if the other cards that failed for him were cardx as well or a different kind. but that wont guarantee him his limitations being lifted even if the card is accepeted..depending what reasons he got limited in the first place.

Let me put this in a simple way:

I used xxx to register paypal. when limited, I used yyy to confirm location.

the only problem is that the virtual phone number.

I am downloading stealth book version 2.0, trying to find any new info.

Yeah I was just reading that myself, the virtual phone section seems to be the same.

So if I get this straight, you mentioned PP told you that you added an invalid number (the 4 digits), and yet when you proceeded to the next page it says CONGRATULATION YOU SUCESSFULLY CONFIRMED.. so one page it tells you it fails, but the next it says that you succeded ?? If that's the case, that is a bit strange yes..

I noticed something though.. Always harder to get your account unsuspended after you had limitations.. the best is to verify and confirm first so you don't raise any suspicions from the start, you may have to create a brand new account again with the right cards.

PS: I am editing all my post to remove the card names we mentioned, may be nothing but like Modee says, PP spies are reading thse boards, so you don't want to give them tools towork against us. You may want to edit your post as well to remove any card names you mentioned.

Ok good job. But yeah link and confirm first will save you some problems. I suppose your limitations was one of those ID case. Listing expansive stuff early on is not the best way.. at least not before 30 days + I say ideally 20 DSR. Usually, that does the trick for listing high end stuff. Also can you tell me, I got to get a virtual phone, does the virtual numbers gave you lots of problems before, or are you usually able to verify your ebay and PP accounts with them ? Like the previous post you mentioned it told you you enter the wrong 4 digit number, but then it says it was successful ??
I used to it with cell phones on ebay but we cant do that anymore..

in my case, virtual phone and virtual card worked. as you can see from my post.

Yes I understand this time, but I was just curious if it usually works on a regular basis ?? I will attempt myself this week. Have you experienced issues with the virtual number before ? I'll have to get a subcription to a provider, in Canada preferably, but without any hardware. I think Vonage (I will edit that after you read it) requires some hardware correct ?
