Ally Bank any good?
 

I'm planning on replacing my stealth Paypal's current bank (Etrade) with an Ally bank account, mainly because Paypal limited my account and wants me to submit a bank statement and I can't get one from Etrade (account with them got limited). Despite having read on the forum that Ally isn't very good for stealth paypals, I'm choosing it because it's the only U.S bank I've been able to find that seems to not require an initial deposit. What is your experience with Ally?

Noway. Ally dont even allow or offer their customers free vcc. Garbage bank. Good bank in usa will offer vcc to their members. Most do

Go for BoA or Chase if you can.

Ally is usually used for those with poor credit or in cheque systems.

If you can use other banks.

They are actually a bottom feeder bank that charges crazy fees for anything you do.

Stay away from Ally, their fraud department is major aholes, i am surprised i didn't get a SAR from them. Same with nationwide imo.

BofA has changed the rules too. They no longer have free accounts. You have have a large balance or direct deposit. I found out the my three accounts that are free are grand fathered in. I just opened an Ally account to replace some BofA savings that I lost. Any advice on other free checking without hassles?

I just got an account with Ally. I just need it to verify paypal. Bad idea?

Yes bad idea, Ally is known to get into trouble with deposits in different names.

well this sucks. What about variations? It just seems to be the easiest online bank to set up right now and the quickest.

It same like etrade. U should use BOA. I always provider BOA VBA to customer.

BOA they waive the charge when u add money from paypal deposits, so As long As ur selling and making money the $12 charge gets waived
