Limitatioin on payal
 

My friends,
Need you help. Have a stealth paypal account about two years old. Today when I opened my paypal account, I got the following message:

"To remove the limitations on your account, update your profile. Provide your tax reporting information"

My account is no way near 20,000 or 200 payments. They meet half of it(12000, 150 payments). Any segestions how to resolve this ???

Have you not signed on in a while? Before when I had this, it was more of accepting the new terms.

Does your limit specifically say what is limited? Sometimes my accounts say limited, but I goto it and it will then give me the badge saying verified.. only thing I could add was SSN, but that never limited my selling or withdraw by too much.

i have the same situation to provide the ssn. Ebay in excllent standing more than 2 years old.
Do you still have message or it is gone? Did you provide the ssn? The other stealth account i had it was limited unless I provided the ssn. Many thanks for your input.

If you used your SSN on anything before it will link everything..

If you do more than the 20K$ and have SSN then they will file your account to IRS for you if you do not..

no my sale is well below 20k. Do they still need the ssn? though the sale is less than 20k

They will not require it, but it is bad not to report to taxes in end. If you report you make $20k a year but have a 500$k house, then it will raise suspicion :rip:

I wish I have a 500k house. I would not be doing ebay for sure. But thanks for you tip.

You got hit with the request is because Paypal viewed you as a potential seller who will reach the limit. You don't necessarily have to hit it the 200/20,000, if you're close or paypal thinks you're close.

Personally, I stop under 120/10,000
& this is why you need to spread your selling thru multiple accounts.

You could provide an EIN to paypal and it should take of care it.
Do keep in mind, you will begin paying taxes on all your sales via eBay.
