how long does paypal review take? what does it involve?
 

I just submitted all the docs including stealth ID stealth utility bill stealth bank statement as well as tracking for all my items. I called Paypal and they said my account is under review with the back office.

Does anyone know how long this review will take? I'm a bit concerned because the first lady I talked to said they can probably restore my account right away and then the next guy in account limitations said Ill have to wait for the guys in back office to finish their review which makes me think something is wrong :confused:.

Also, what goes into an account review? Do they check your DL number? I obviously made up a stealth ID with a random DL number.. do they check that?

By the way, Paypal also asked for my SSN which I told them I am not comfortable providing. As I got off the phone the agent said I may be receiving an email that will ask for my SSN.. I think legally they can't require that information right?

Time frame is really gonna depend on Paypal, if 4-5 days go by and nothing I would call them up again.

If the account is healthy, then can't you give tax ID to pp?
Would that be an option anybody?

Also worse comes to worse, pp can only hold funds for180 days.
Granted that no actual theft, fraud or misuse was involved right?
I heard story of pp holding 100's of thousands of dollars from a charity,
without pp knowing it was a real charity?
Until person proved pp wrong, which made headlines, which made pp totally revamp its procedures...

Oh dear. You have some serious misconceptions regarding paypal.

:nono: Blew that action with the DL. Not the correct method.

paypal have declared their rights to 'do' what they want by asking for personal info.

When you signed up to use paypal, you agreed to this. Rough to find out now.

Have you considered an EIN if needed?

And no, no theft or misuse. I shipped out everything and provided tracking # for all.

I just received an email from Paypal saying they want to see that the three items they are monitoring are delivered first before making a decision.

3-7 days is normal. Depends on a lot of factors.

I only had 3 problems with paypal before and all were cleared up within 3-4 hours, much faster than eBay, make sure u upload everything I think that is the difference, when u fax it gets lost ,uploading they can see everything quickly

I told them I'm not gonna provide them with my ssn and voluntarily closed that paypal account. i get my money in 2 months (90 days)

If you got this in writing, it may happen.

Just be careful that paypal do not play further games with you.

Not sure how you managed to close the account yourself. But any paypal promise needs to be treated carefully.
