PayPal asks for new pass and copy of bill
 

Today I tried to buy something some virtual currency trying out this new stuff like $5 worth. When I did PayPal said they are concerned someone accessed my account and would I review my info make sure nothing has changed and all recent transactions are ok.
Then when I look at all that it says for security you must change your pass and security questions.

Than I had to provide the bank info on file it shows the last 2 digits and I had to go in and enter the whole thing. Then since I have no land line only way to confirm my address is utility bill.
So I sent one and even a letter from the irs to log into and make online payments for the business taxes.

This is a business account BTW.
Should this clear things up? I mean PP is a pain we all know that but was it just me buying something out or the ordinary that freaked them out?

Virtual currency can be suspicious. paypal act to protect themselves. But if your account was hacked, then you should appreciate they tried to protect you.

Did you access the account from your usual computer or elsewhere?

Does this account have any sort of phone number?

I have 2 phones on it but both are cell so it tells me I can't verify that way and had to send a copy of utility bill so I sent that and the tax thing. On the tax thing it has my business EIN so if figure that's even more proof. I just never like pp looking at my account.

Well they got back to me today and said I am good to go they were just concerned about the safety of my account or so they say.

That's a good outcome.


Keep in mind that paypal can and do limit accounts again.

Congratz on the outcome - in general, PP is always suspicious of anything digitally delivered...currency or otherwise

I will try not to do "suspicious" things to paypal.
My next step is to actually withdraw money from paypal. I have bought stuff all the way down to 0 from gift cards to stuff to sell but not actually transferred money to bank account.
