Paypal limited - no refund available for my buyers?
 

I got limited and I see no refund options in paypal in the transaction page. Is this normal or? How do I refund them with no refund button? Do I ask them to open a dispute and try that way or what do I do?

You can ALWAYS refund your buyers.
Limited or not.

Click on the name of the Buyer on paypal and a button will appear by the transaction amount where you can refund them.

You can refund though PayPal the exact same was as you refund when not limited.

When I go to the transaction page on the page where it shows payment date, number, etc etc there is no refund button. Must be a security hold on the account or who knows. I will have to call paypal to issue the refund.

Not nessesarily true. Sometimes Paypal removes the ability to refund transactions for whatever reason.

Regardless, when this happen you have two options. Either ask the buyers to file a dispute, or call up Paypal and have them refund the transactions for you.

I've gone through this twice. "X You can not send refunds to buyers."
They may say something along the lines about using another funding source to fund it instead of your balance. F*** that..

Assuming you really want the refund to go through and you're not going to wait the 180 days after a limitation. Call them up, tell them to screw themselves (optional). Tell them either they will have to refund it manually or if they refuse, you'll contact the buyer to file a chargeback (or multiple chargebacks) on your behalf because Paypal is refusing to cooperate. Since Paypal loses money on chargebacks, this'll probably put them on alert. It's their responsibility and fault that your account got limited by mistake, regardless of their faulty security metrics. You and the buyer are both looking for retaliation. Leave the decision up to them and they'll usually fold.

OFC, if this transaction was in excess of 60 days, you're kinda out of luck because it's in line with solid policy, but I'm assuming that's not the case here. Have fun.

I called and they said if you can't send a refund from the seller side then it's because of the limitation and they won't be able to do anything until the limitation gets resolved first. They recommended I tell the buyer to open a dispute and put that I won't send the item.

And the whole point of holding the funds for 180 days according to paypal is so that if a buyer needs a refund the money is there and they are giving u a hard time on that, I'd just give the buyer paypals number let them do some work, they cause all the problems and hide from the buyers and expect the seller to still work after they took away our business

I had the buyer open a dispute and I clicked refund and it presented an error unable to refund. Must be a security hold on the account. Just let paypal fix it. There stupid systems when you try to resolve and they don't want anybody touching your account.
