Limited After Payment - Likelihood of Success?

Sent a payment to buy an item. Account was limited shortly afterwards (approximately 42 minutes) with the reason, "We noticed some unusual activity on the credit card linked to your Paypal account."

Payment sent on 1:16PM. Account limited 1:58PM.
Account is Verified (Bank).
Card is Verified. Confirmed Address.
80% Completion Meter on Paypal.

No other problems with the account. Limitation just popped up out of the blue.

With these factors, what's the likelihood of the limitation causing a problem with the payment I sent earlier? I hope it doesn't get reversed for some BS reason..
I have received no details of any reversals or temporary holds, but I realize there could be a possible random Paypal Payment Review on the other end that could ruin things.
I won't know until tomorrow afternoon if this successfully cleared or not as I won't hear from the seller themselves until then about shipment. Just curious..

There was a payment I put through in the past successfully and the account got limited a day or two later for pretty much the same reason.
However, this time it was uncomfortably close to the time I paid, so I'm nervous about it. Trying to get any details I can..

Thanks.

What type of credit card did you use?

It sounds like the payment is in review now..

If the credit card is due to expire, and the amount is largish, paypal have done soft limits like this.

:pout:

What does it say you must do in the resolution centre?
Anything they asking for regarding the card ?

I didn't pay with a credit card. Paid with the Paypal balance. There is just a VCC & VBA on file for verification purposes. A little ticked because there was some money still left in the balance.

Just passed the 24 hour mark. No changes via email but I will login and check shortly.

UPDATE: Talked with the seller giving them my order confirmation number. Transaction was "cancelled."

Paypal payment was a complete FAIL. Logged in and was greeted with a Temporary Hold. Asked to verify nearly everything on this planet. FML.

I didn't even get a notification. The funds have been on Temporary Hold this entire time. That's it. I'm pissed.

Was this unusually large amount and the payment was crossing continents?

No. This was a purchase entirely within' the USA. Ordered a product from California which I was planning to sell later. The whole thing was an experiment to see if I can cash out via Paypal other than bank means.. so I placed an order through eBay, expecting it to be shipped to the Confirmed Address. Unfortunately, I've had nothing but problems..

The "Temporary Hold" process says that they're waiting on the sellers reply. The seller just told me they have no control over the funds and can not reply. The funds have disappeared from either of our accounts. The purchase was $1000-$1200. Luckily I sold a low risk product and was able to minimize my losses to around $300-$400'ish, but it's just a complete waste of time. It was my gamble trying something new like this, so I'm taking responsibility for it.

If this person was running a website, it would be much easier. It is definitely harder with so many stealth accounts to have a bank account.

My other worry is PayPal requirement for Tax Id too.

I've been trying a whole bunch of things lately because I feel like I'm running out of options. I'm honestly just tired of dealing with banks and in some cases, their abuse of policy. Nothing seems to be working properly, except for bank transfer or something else direct. It's really dumb since Paypal emails you a $10 off coupon for any purchase on eBay.. They really tempt you to f**k up. EBAY-to-EBAY funded purchases must be hellish risk if they're doing this..

I was able to put a few successful transactions through a private dealer (who had a web checkout system) before I ran into this issue and lost these funds due to eBay/Paypal stupidity. After a couple to a few successful transactions, for some reason after a point, his Paypal cart started glitching up and never showing any attached or confirmed address on payments. I'm currently waiting for him to fix things and was trying something else in the meantime. That's pretty much the full story.

I got this as well on 2 of my well established accounts.
I have NO idea what is going on with eb/pp but its nuts...
Only small amounts, USA sales... No chance to appeal at 90% on both accounts.

If you are using paypal for amounts of over $500 you have to have a variety of your cash-out methods.

The bank option ticks more boxes with paypal. That allows the account to have a little bit of 'credit'. Theny you try different options.

Point is to not get too hacked off with paypal. Use them to your own advantage.
