Use a different from same bank branch?
 

Let's say the checking account didn't go through, could I make another ebay/paypal account and use the savings account from the same bank branch?

Yes - as long as the account is NEW and UNUSED, the branch is irrelevant...which bank are you using? Made sure it's good for stealth?

Provided your bank is fine for stealth, using the savings account is fine.

Have you any idea why the checking account may not have worked?

I used Ally's checking.

I would stay away from Ally if at all possible. I don't know if it's still the case but Paypals were getting limited when adding Ally accounts. There's plenty of other banks in the US that works a lot better with stealth.

But yes you can use multiple checking/savings accounts from the same bank for creating stealths. Just remember: 1 account (number) per stealth, and never reuse the same bank account on more than one stealth account.
