Activity: 0% Longevity: 90% | | PayPal Limited, but still receiving payments
So one of my PayPals were limited (then suspended) last week, but sales still came in from ebay and the $ amount continues to tally the $ earned. Theoretically, can I still use the paypal to receive payments for the next month and expect the account to be unlocked in 180 days to retrieve ALL the funds?

Funds only get released 180 days after the last payment, although sometimes funds will get released sooner.

Its really not a very good plan IMO.
PayPal has been know to not give funds back after 180 days in rare cases.

There are several horror stories on various thread on here about people who were not able to get their funds out - even after the 180 days had passed. For whatever reason paypal decided that those funds are on an indefinite hold and would not release them.
Ive even heard of a couple of cases where paypal had decided that the limited account was related/linked to another account with a negative balance in it (a total BS story of course) in order to empty the funds to supposedly cover the negative balance in the other account.
I would avoid this situation. Just not worth the risk.

They do not always give funds back. I have an extreme case of this with numbers such as you are talking about. Another account 5k lost.

I personally have never had a problem with not receiving money from limited paypals but its not worth the risk just move on and start bugging them to give you back the money after 45 days they usually comply.

I guess my ? is will PayPal steal my stealth $? | With a limitation, paypal tells you they may retain funds for chargebacks or for whatever reasons they want.
With that in mind, make sure you allow them access as small amount of funds as possible.
There are confirmed reports of funds being entirely held by paypal.
Avoid being their victim too. |

Just fyi, after getting the limitation message...your PP account will still accept money for about 21 days (or is it 14 - been awhile since I had this) before the account is completely blocked...meaning you can still receive funds for that time

So you guys are saying, that paypal can literally steal peoples money without any legal repercussions? I know it's paypal, but stealing is illegal no matter who's doing it.

If you think PayPal is bad, you should take a look at what Amazon does....

Amazon is 100X worse.
Most credit card processors operate like paypal just so you know.

An inactive user JSR has had some of the worst case paypal theft occurred to him. That is my money and I can assure you that paypal will keep the funds if they choose to, especially if they feel you are not who you say you are, are uncooperative and make demands. There is another member on here who has hired an attorney to get funds released but I can not recall who.
