| | | pikachu10 | 12-08-2014 03:40 PM | My Attorney's Demand Letter Hey all,
I have been trying to get PayPal to unlimit my account with NO prevail. I have gotten fed up. I have contacted an attorney, currently I'm talking to two and one of them is going to send a demand letter of closure or reinstatement of my account to PayPal. I'm sick of PayPal.
I'll update you as it goes. I've sent to all PayPal emails I can find a warning. I have complained to the BBB. Now, It's time for an attorney to step in. I'm not stopping until the account is closed or reinstated.
They have told me the only way to get an explanation was using a lawyer and attorney. Fine. I will.
So, yeah guys, what do you think? :help: |
| yankee | 12-08-2014 03:42 PM | Re: My Attorney's Demand Letter I lost a years income(not my income, USA average income) last year with such actions. Not my account(s), but my money.
Wish you luck! |

| yankee | 12-08-2014 03:52 PM | Re: My Attorney's Demand Letter Lost everything on one account. The other we recouped some funds until attorney got involved and lost the balance. They insist we just settle it in court. You have to sue paypal in the state they are incorporated in. Not worth it to me, especially seeing as both accounts were not mine, just my money. Retainer of 10K to recoup 19K in one account does not make sense to me.
If we were not pushy, demanding and threatening, I am sure 180 days would have been fine. |
| yankee | 12-08-2014 03:58 PM | Re: My Attorney's Demand Letter Is this a business account?
Personal accounts are more likely not to loose funds if you prove identity. The moment you upgrade(sometimes they make you) you can have more issues and longer holds. Whole different beast. Usually better but not in this case. |
| pikachu10 | 12-08-2014 04:00 PM | Re: My Attorney's Demand Letter This is my personal account. It is registered as a business account. I want the demand letter to get the reason why I was limited and to close or reinstate my account. It's registered with real info. |
| GreenBean | 12-08-2014 04:03 PM | Re: My Attorney's Demand Letter On what grounds did you get a permanent limitation?

| pikachu10 | 12-08-2014 04:06 PM | Re: My Attorney's Demand Letter I don't know because their policy is they can't tell me. The letter will also get that info from them. |
| yankee | 12-08-2014 04:07 PM | Re: My Attorney's Demand Letter These accounts were too. They were collecting 38k and 55k average monthly sales. One had 26K held, got much of that back until we threatened legal action.
The other lost 19K altogether.
We know what the issue is. One, the account holder had no credit(not bad, but non) and paypal wanted to hold 20% rolling reserve for a six month review.
The other the account holder had terrible credit and paypal wanted to hold 50% rolling reserve for one year.
Both accounts were linked because they were brothers and shared some info. Both accounts costs me a hard lesson. |

chargebacks?
Quick & big increase of incoming funds?
Items being sold on ebay questionable?
Is the ebay associated with this paypal still active or suspended too?
From your own pov, you should have some suspicions for this happening.

| yankee | 12-08-2014 04:12 PM | Re: My Attorney's Demand Letter Your issue is all about a reason? Not about funds?
Why waste your energy? Not being rude, just don't understand. |
| pikachu10 | 12-08-2014 04:20 PM | Re: My Attorney's Demand Letter I don't want to be blacklisted from PayPal or eBay. My sister also got the hammer because of me and she ain't happy. |
| Dmshark25 | 12-08-2014 04:28 PM | Re: My Attorney's Demand Letter Just start another account, this is how eBay and PayPal operate, when you sign up you agree that they can terminate there business with you without notice.
It's a private company , they don't like giving exact reasons out because that will expose there security which will allow people to circumvent there limitations.
What's the difference why they limited your account? They will just give some BS answer anyway , and your going to lose time and Money to get whatever they want to tell you |
| Dmshark25 | 12-08-2014 04:32 PM | Re: My Attorney's Demand Letter I feel for you and been there, and it is the worst especially when you rely on them to make a living, but the best thing to do is to focus on how to operate and play there game to get back to selling
It's never going to be where you have one account for life and thats its, that's just not how it works, and a letter from an attorney is not going to change that, it's just going to get you a generic reason or any reason they want to say |
| pikachu10 | 12-08-2014 04:44 PM | Re: My Attorney's Demand Letter Are you sure? This isn't some stupid generic answer thing. This is about my information being held and my account. The fix to this is either a reinstatement or closure for PayPal. |

Most are outraged not just because of the limitation but because they had $50K to $100K in their paypal account when it was limited and have to wait now 6 months to get that released
So you got out easy if your only problem is the account is limited , learn stealth, once you learn how to operate it takes no time at all to create as many account as you like |

YOU will spend money. They wont. It will cost them nothing. Seriously, what can you possibly sue them for? WHta can you take them to court for if no funds are lost? What are your damages?
So, they dont want to do business with you. You think threatening legal action will make them want to? What judge in this world would make a PRIVATE company do business with someone they dont want to do business with?
So over the past decade+ of ebay I have blocked a few thousand users. What paypal is doing to you is exactly the same thing as that. When one of the blocked people ask why they are blocked(when they can even get a hold of me) I either say, "Because I don't want you as a customer" or I don't say anything at all.
When they complain more or say I am horrible, or threaten actions because I wont sell to them, I say, "If I am so horrible and you are going to sue me and report me to the BBB, why do you insist to do business with me?" and never reply again.
Paypal is doing the same thing to you. It is exactly the same. You have ZERO damages and will cost paypal nothing at all. They wont even reply to your attorney most likely. Why would they? |
| trosky | 12-08-2014 05:54 PM | Re: My Attorney's Demand Letter Again, they will give you a generic reason like suspicious activity, they don't have to go into any details, even through an attorney. Their TOS are strong to get away with anything. So imo it's just a waste of time/money just for your ego to be relieved |

And than you got your reason that will cost you $2500 for a lawyer to write a letter to paypal |

Why would they? | They do have SOME money and they are holding MY personal info. I only gave that to them because I was going to use PayPal. Now that I'm not, they don't have a right to keep my info. What if they get hacked? The hackers get my info. eBay was hacked a few months ago, and Anonymous DDOS attacked PayPal to death for a few hours. If they get hacked, my info is leaked when I didn't want PayPal to have it in the first place!
Therefore, the solution, close my account. That's all THEY have to do, and it will save them a lot of time and money. |

Your information is saved by EVERY SINGLE INSTITUTION you have ever gave it to indefinitely long after you are no longer walking on earth.
That is just a fact of life. |

That is just a fact of life. | If my account is closed, they won't link anything if I make a new one because there is no account to link it too. Plus, I don't plan to make a new one with real info because I don't trust them. |

If your though process worked, we would all hire an attorney and have them delete the account and then reopen an account. Banks and credit card companies and credit bureaus, facebook and schools etc....
Even MySpace has your information, IP address, etc...from a decade ago. That information is saved forever, even if closed and or deleted. |

That is just a fact of life. | Yankee is SO correct.
An example...when.paying my virgin bill i was.asked if they.could keep my card details.for.future payments. I said no.
When i.phoned up following month to pay, i was met with."shall we use the same card as last month"".
If everybodys pp was suspended and all.personal info wiped...there would be no reason for this forum. |
| jeffweico | 12-08-2014 07:21 PM | Re: My Attorney's Demand Letter I think PayPal's response will depend on the reason your account was limited. If it was a weak limitation, maybe they will just release the funds and giver you the generic "parting ways" letter. If, however, they have a STRONG reason for limiting the account they could very well tell you to go ahead and file your suit. |
