Proof of Delivery: Local Pickup Only??
 

I've been requested to "Provide more information" about 5 different items I sold.

3 of the items were listed (and sold) as LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. I am not sure how I am supposed to provide proof of delivery for a local pickup only item?

Secondly, my stealth account is in Wyoming and I live in Georgia. When I upload tracking to show that the items have been shipped/delivered is PayPal going to be pissed when they see that the packages originated in Georgia and not in Wyoming?

Could I just tell them I've been on vacation/business trip and shipped the items during my travels?

On local pickup, cash only etc.. You loose if the buyer opens a claim. Paypal changed these rules about two years ago as they rolled out 'PayPal Here'

as for shipping location, no they will not care.

No claims have been opened. I was selling too much too rapidly and PP didn't like it I guess.

Will I be screwed if I upload tracking originating in Georgia instead of Wyoming?

And I guess I'm just going to ship an envelope with the ebay invoice in it for the items I had marked as Local Pickup Only and then upload the tracking numbers to PayPal.

Is that a solid option?

Not really if a claim occurred.
Paypal is very specific about NO SELLER PROTECTION for local pickup now unless you use "Paypal Here" and swipe a card and we can not get this on stealth accounts. A couple years ago you had options, not anymore.

Local pickup needs to be another form of payment if you are worried about protection.

If you just want to clear the funds in paypal, the BUYER can click a couple buttons and say they received goods and your funds will be released. But only the buyer can do this.

Very difficult to win a pickup on delivery claim via PP. Moving forward, you really need to tell buyer cash on hand - sad but true

Reduce any stories you ever tell paypal.

Tracking is from Georgia because your despatch site is there. The end.

I don't think it matters where the item ships from as long as it ships and the info is uploaded.

Local pickup is really tough - buyers can really scam you on that. Have you tried craigslist? Maybe a safer option?

If you do craigslist...meet in public place where cameras are present - just fyi, one option

I buy with paypal and do local pickup often. Never once has anyone asked for cash after I made payment and then pickup arrangements. Actually, that is not true. I bough a woodspliter and the seller refunded and asked to send payment directly so the funds would not be held.

A lot of people don't know it is risky.

i cant understand why give paypal the fees and let some one pick up.

and i have had people local to me even say "please pay cash on collection" i wont pay fees that way.

i did use paypal to pay first and then pick up, but this was bcause i didnt have the cash in hand but did on my paypal.

I use my small paypal accounts for this when I find something big and local to buy. Just a simple cashout method for me sometimes.

I do not accept paypal for local pickup and do not encourage it. It is risky.
