suspensed-linked to another account
 

Hello,

My paypal account has been suspended as they have linked it to another account. The other account is my dads account and transpires that it has had a negative balance.

I called paypal and they advised me that is does not matter that the account is in someone elses name, the fact is they have linked them and I would have to repay the negative balance on my dads account before they would lift the suspension on mine.

Surely this cannot be the case

Can anyone help me please ?

Depends on the "link" - Name, address, IP Address, eBay accounts, and so on....

They can, and do, do this. And worse, they also can and do ask you to pay any balance on a supposed "linked account" and then do not reverse an account suspension.

Paypal can pretty much get away with anything, regrettably.

and they may trick you into bringing the negative balance into credit and still no restore your account. Luck of the draw really unfortunately.

So well known trick of theis, asking to fulfill a neg balance while promising Heaven Meadows. As soon as you pay, they say "hahaha, thanks, we don't like you, go away".

They most probably linked you due to IP or the address. Thanks
