Do I need to pay for my eBay fees since my paypal is limited ?

Like a month ago I got my pp limited and tells me to upload Id invoice prove of address, and I was told on the forum that I don't need to do anything and they will release my fund in 180 days. Then today I got a email that tells me I need to pay for my eBay fees but since my pp is limited and they cannot charge the balance from the pp account then do I still have to pay for the eBay fees ? Since I'm not going to use that eBay account does it matter if I pay for it or not ? Thanks guys ! And sorry for my poor English

You will need to pay the fees. You can use a VCC and pay it directly though eBay

And for my pp account they never send me any emails about the 180 days notice would I still be able to take the money out after 180 days by adding a bank account ?

Any explanation why should we pay fees IF PP and Eb are limited and those accounts are not going to be used anymore?

I know, but how could they take money out of my hands? I mean since PP is limited they can not charge money from PP account and they do not have my bank account info (PP has only my debit card's info, no bank info).
Why should I be concerned if I owe money if I will not be using those accounts..??

The reason WHY you need to pay is because you used their services so you have to pay for that.

You wrote "how could they take it money out of my hands?"
They can do that. Has been discussed in here several times. It depends on the ammount of money involved but they have the power and the money to legally act on you and get everything out of your pockets.
Do not think that just because you are "stealth" you cannot be reached... careful.

eBay and PayPal will chase you down and they will try to do everything they can to get their money back.

They will hire a collection agency to collect your debts.

For real? They would do things like that for $100? :D

Do the right thing dude. You used their services and you don't want to pay? That's just not human. How would you feel if you were ebay?

They would do it for $10. After all its you who will send up paying all the fees to the debt recovery company not eBay or PayPal

You used their service. Pay their fees

I wonder how can they track down a stealth, if it has everything non-real. And if the question is about 2 dollars. They will not involve Interpol for 2 dollars.

C'mon, be a man of honor!!

How much did you earn from that account? Pay what is due.

They are a billion $ company... They will be able to track accounts to real people if they want when money is owed.

Just pay them the money that is owed. It really is that simple and you avoid these issues

You use the service, you pay the fees. You can pay with a VCC. Your decision in the end OP.

I wonder what email did you receive during these 2 years?

I saw a thread on the az section, same scenario, and every responder said if it is stealth then they cannot track you, even if your bank was attached....so why the different advice for ebay?

if you withdrew all the money, I have no issue with paying fees, it is the correct thing to do, you have not lost anything.....those fees were always due, and built in to your profit margin....

but personally, if they are holding my money on 180 days hold, why would I take a vcc and pay any fees, if they cannot take from my paypal balance, tough....I will withdraw my money then decide if I want to pay the fees at that point......

I am having the same thought here. Collectors wont hunt for a stealth guy for 10 usd. Not worth it.

To each his own - not the recommendation of the forum.

I agree completely. They would also need a court order to obtain your real name from your bank account, which is a VERY tall order and a lot of effort, and it would also mean taking themselves through many multiple court processes to do so, and I am sure PayPal do not want their name and operating practices put on show like that.

If they didn't hold to my money for 180 days, they would get paid. That simple really. A debt collector is not going to come after anyone for $10, I used to work in that industry.

The forums stance on this is you used the service, pay the fees, and this will be repeated by the mods, because this is the position they chose to take, and it's a good one with no ambiguity, and I actually do agree with it. I just choose a different route based on the circumstances.

So its up to you what you decide to do really.

Isn't there one more theoretical link?

If we're following the Aspkin's Stealth book,
and I assume most of us here are,
then your name/address is false, and your debit card is false,
and your phone can't be linked to you...
but there are still 2 links/holes.

1. The bank account (which as you just said, it's unlikely PP will jump through all those hoops).

2. Your i.p. address. I'm not sure whether that's a tall order too.
But I take it most of us are just changing the MAC address and thus changing the ip address...but it still comes back to us (unless proxy or vpn, but I don't think anyone here is using that for Ebay).

In my case, when I got this apartment, the internet was already flowing from the cable, so for 3 years I've had free internet and my ID is not on the bill. But I don't know if the ISP or whoever can still trace it to me.

P.S. All the above is just idle curiosity.
I'll throw my hat in with the others and chant, "Pay your fees...because."
It sure sounds like one person told all the others to just repeat that for no reason (or for an unspoken reason...probably to keep Ebay fees from rising).
I feel like I stepped into 1984.
