Paypal canada says Canadian Gov requires proof of ID from memebers
 

Hello, Received an e-mail from Paypal stating:

In acord to the Canadian government wish of controlling, paypal is required to gather more information.

We need you to confirm your date of birth, my profession, my address and phone #.

Are the the info I entered when I created the paypal account or the info they will cross-reference with public database.

The date of birth I provided when creating my payapl account is not valid butthe rest of the informations are. So, if I enter my real date of birth will they check in a database and say OK or if I enter the same bogus one when I registered the account will the say OK it's a match. So I enter the real DoB as verification or t=bogus used for registration. WHen I respond to the questions in the first page and click NEXT, are there more questions

This DOES sound like a phishing email.

DO NOT CLICK ON ANY LINKS IN THAT EMAIL!

Log into your PayPal account directly through your browser.

If there is an issue with your account, an alert will display when you do so.

Login to your Paypal account through browser as normal. If they are making in such requests, it will appear once you login.
