Getting paypal to release £3,00 in less than a month

So I put up a post earlier today about an issue with my PayPal account being limited over and over again. Well long story short eventually they told me I was permanently banned and restricted and that my funds would be held for 180 days...I was so mad that I started googling and ran across a great post that a guy had put up. Within the post it contained all email addresses of the paypal execs etc. So I sent this email to them all which I will copy and paste now:

RE: Case PP-xxx-yyy-zzz

I am respectfully requesting that the hold on my funds/account be lifted. I am not necessarily requesting that my account be re-opened or allowed to continue to use the PayPal service, as I have already taken my business to your largest competitor and I am no longer in need of PayPal’s services.

I have previously requested a review/appeal of my case which was denied. Although I still disagree with the decision to deny my appeal I will abide by it – however because I feel that holding my funds for 180 days for a non-fraudulent violation of PayPal’s Acceptable Use Policy is excessive, and perhaps a punitive abuse of power, I will be filing complaints with the following agencies on Wednesday morning, March 07, 2015 if I am not satisfied with PayPal’s response to this request to release my funds:

(agencies in the states that I reside or have a business presence in)

The California Office of the Attorney General

Consumer Complaint Against A Business/Company | State of California - Department of Justice - Kamala D. Harris Attorney General

The Washington State Office of the Attorney General

https://fortress.wa.gov/atg/formhand...laintForm.aspx

The Florida Office of the Attorney General

Florida Attorney General - Citizen Services Contact Form

The Arizona Office of the Attorney General

Florida Attorney General - Citizen Services Contact Form

Additionally:
The United States Federal Reserve

What do I need to know before I file a complaint? | Federal Reserve Consumer Help

(I understand that PayPal does not operate as a “bank” which is precisely why they may be interested in such complaints)

The Better Business Bureau:

https://odr.bbb.org/odrweb/public/complaintlink.aspx

All complaints will be filed “online” Wednesday morning march 07, 2015 and written copies will also be sent via certified postal mail unless I am happy with the outcome of this situation.

Regards,

Now obviously i got back the usual automated responses bu then 8 hours later i got an email saying that they would release my funds in 90 days instead of 180, i was happy but i continued to keep the pressure on with another formal email and then they said they would release my funds after 1 month!! once that month was over i emailed them and BANG!!! i had £3,000 released for withdrawal

That was already discussed on the forum in great detail.

You should have searched here first.

We are at the forefront of stealth after all.

Good job Garry! Once I waited the whole 180 days for PP to release my $3k. That email did not help for some reason.

Less than .01% of all who claimed to have called in hardly rates as success.

Unclear why the OP would threaten to file a complaint with the Florida State Attorney General's Office to get £3k released from a UK Paypal account?

All very strange.....

Is there anything better than can be done?

Amend the email above so that you are at least threatening to take Paypal to court in the correct country. ;)

Has to be on a case by case approach.

Ideally, avoid being limited in the 1st instance.

Never allowing a large amount of funds to be (ever) held by paypal helps offset the grief of limitation.

Create a paypal account that has every info available when needed.

Then there are those ( genuine) hardship cases where special care is needed.

I think the letter lists USA based institutions because their head office is there and it's a global company.

It's about causing some potential problems for them and make a threat.

At least that's how I see it :)

I was being sarcastic. Don't believe for a second that Paypal are worried / concerned when they receive these emails from users.

Ok, so why are there so many success stories of this letter online?

I'm not trying to be a pain, just trying to understand why it (maybe) works :)

There isn't. What you see is maybe five examples of success, out of the thousands and thousands of limited accounts.

They probably release the OP's money out of sheer hilarity that being a UK/Ireland resident, he would contact the Florida State Attorney. Must of been a big old giggle on that one.
