Reason. I sent the goods to the buyer, but he demanded the money back, eBay won money, PayPal also won the case, but the buyer requested a chargeback, and then I lost.

if you do no pay the money, paypal will eventually close your account. You will also get paypal coming after you with the collections department.

yes chargebacks are harsh,

where are you - romania? and it was your real details? I mean, for example in UK they will send it to a collection agency in UK, who will call/write to you, and whilst it is good idea to pay and get them off your case, you do not actually have to pay in UK, just deny the debt...but the forum advises you to pay it.

but what happens with romania collectors, we dont know.......what can they do to you? maybe their collectors are vampires?

In the USA, the account goes to collections. Usually, they put it on your credit report.

If the balance is high enough to meet their criteria, they can sue. But that usually won't happen for $500.

If the credit reporting system in your country is anything like in the US, you should pay it and keep your good credit. Because you may not care RIGHT NOW, but one day - six months from now or 4 years from now - you will want to buy something and need credit. Having this black mark against you means you will probably have to pay a higher interest rate OR you may not get the loan at all.

Creditors won't care about your eBay dispute. All they will see is that you didn't pay your bill.

question - out of interest, for USA accounts, do they need the ssn added in order to report it to credit agency or are real details enough alone?

might be pertinent to OP too as ssn system not used in other countries.....
