Are paypal cleaning up before they split with ebay?
 

I've lost 5 paypal accounts this week.

Its a month or two before paypal and ebay split

I figure paypal are shutting a lot of accounts down that link to ebay accounts that they have even half a reason to be suspicious of

My one ebay account is from 2001. It has been above standard for a year or more. They just upped my allowances, but paypal has shut the account down. Something about "user agreements". I set up a new paypal on a fresh user account with new IP etc and they banned it in 3 days.

I did this with another account 6 months ago but it worked fine then

You can't make a new PayPal and attach it to the same EBay account.

Linking in a new PayPal to an eBay that is linked to an old banned PayPal is always a very short term solution.

Its so stupid how i could call ebay and ask for greater seller allowance and they would say of course, you've done well son, have another 500

Then someone else in another office of the same company has said, nah i'm just going to ban you forever.

Yes you shouldnt make a new paypal account for the old ebay account because it will eventually go down as well. Just make a new ebay/paypal account. or use a differnt payment method for the ebay account.

eBay allows you to accept other services for payment. You can find a list on eBay. The problem is, most people want to use PayPal.

eBay requires all sellers listing on eBay.co.uk to offer payments through PayPal (with some limited exceptions). In most cases, other payment options may be offered as well.

These payment methods may be offered in addition to PayPal:


Credit card (including MasterCard, Visa, American Express) or debit card (Visa, Electron, Maestro) processed through the seller's merchant account



Bank-to-bank transfers (also known as bank wire transfers and bank cash transfers)



Payment on collection



Cheques



Postal orders



Online payment services: Allpay.net, cash2india, CertaPay, Checkfree.com, hyperwallet.com, Nochex.com, Ozpay.biz, Paymate.com.au, Propay.com, XOOM

I've had three accounts go down the past few weeks and no idea why for two of them. All separate times too.

It's classic left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing.

Been this way for all the years I have suffered with these companies.

Confirm the ebay is on good standing?

Other payment options than PP are Skrill, Paymate, Propay at the moment

I have also noticed that paypal became very hard on its users.
I hope this is for a limited time.

Op you say you lost 5 paypal accounts, were any of them sending money to eachother EVER or have you ever sent any gift payments to or from the paypal accounts?

i had an ebay account from 2001 and over that time i paid for items using a few different paypal accounts. none of these were stealth accounts. the ebay was above standard though with a great seller history. but yes they banned every account that ever made a purchase on that account

I'm curious to know how paypal knows if you have sent money between your accounts?
Similar ip#'s or maybe account cities too close? Same browsers and same type of CC's? Same bank transferring to same bank name? Same email companies?

I'm sure its a mix of all. Anyone have any better knowledge on this?

I have gotten away with it 100's of times but also failed 100's of times.

Save your "its risky don't do it" I already know that.
