eBay Suspended & PayPal Limited Forums - PAYPAL LIMITED proof of identity

Hi my PayPal account was limited today as i have reached the the 1900 limit. I sent in stealth proof of id and address both edited. But was told the drivers licence i sent in didn't pass their 'checks'. Ive sent the same photo id before but with a different name and edited id numbers so my question is do PayPal keep ID numbers on their records or can they check ID's or passports online. If so how can i verify my identity

As far as I know, it is possible to check UK driver license online by it's number. So that is the reason why they refused it.

Sure its possible. But do you know for a fact that PayPal actually do this?

I can confirm, that they do it, if they really want it, as they have technical means for this.

They send the same docs. But as paypal does not check EVERY document through the whole security mechanism, it works for some, and does not for others.

Its a pretty basic check, I would probably expect them to check it, I knew about this a while ago hence why Ive stopped using DL's because of this.

DLs have very basic design, which caused lots of "creative" guys to pop-up. So, they prefer Passports and ID cards now.

A lot of it all depends on the person doing the checking how much of a jobsworth there actaully are!
