Cant upgrade to Business Account?
 

Hey folks, paypal has been asking for my tax info for about 2 weeks, I was trying to let it play out while i get my ein back for the LLC i have.. well today the paypal account is limited, cant recieve any payments.... went to upgrade to business account to add ein and it says i can not do that because the account is currently limited, so i cant upgrade the account to business account to add an ein, seems like a paradox.... what are my options at this point? is this normal?

If you account was limited, you can do anything. Just wait PAYPAL emails you when you are available to withdraw your funds.

Sounds like your best bet at this point is to call paypal to try to resolve this situation.
But from what I am given to understand these days it takes an EIN AND your SSN to upgrade to a business account so that EIN might not be enough of a solution...

So if that's truly the case now, how does one grow ANY account if you can't turn stealth PP accts into business accounts?

It seems the safest thing to do is upgrade when the account is popular (prior to limiting) as you usually get the first email before they lock it for info. If you wait til that email now you're screwed unless you call in and talk to the right person. I always upgraded right away before this issue and I for sure wouldn't wait now.
