Can't add bank
 

Hi both of my PayPal this morning won't let me add my bank account? I have always used greendot bank. Is there now an issue or should I wait a day and try again?

Hi,
Can't add greendot for month. Can you add greendot recently? Maybe they blocked greendot.

I think they blocked it. This was just today I tried and it won't let me. Darn that was the easiest way idk what to do now for bank. Alot of online ones don't let me get account.
Have you found one to work yet?

NOT YET.
Just FYI, I can not even add BANK OF AMERICA account to limited paypal, even through that it said I CAN ADD A BANK ACCOUNT in the limitation page. I don't know why.

Have you sent in your previous bank account doc's? I got limited for unusual bank behavior and they requested paperwork. I sent and no reply yet... But I have option to add a bank but it won't go through either.. I haven't even gotten a "limitation email as well".

Tried wellsfargo, boa accounts on my multiple limited paypal accounts and they do not work. Just telling me try again later.....

Have you tried to call in to request add bank? They actually let you type in your routing/acc
But if that fails they forward you to a representative...which lets face it... Don't want to do XD

What is the specific error you are getting?

Is it giving you an internal service error or is it something else?

"We have notice suspicious activity with your bank account" limitation. No 180day limitation email or ANY email regarding the error issue..

Mine says they can't add the bank account at this time and try later.

There are so many banks out there for you to use. Just go into any of hundreds of banks and open several accounts with each.
I dont understand the insistence on using online ones which are mostly blacklisted.

That is true, especially since nowadays you can even open bank accounts online (or via the phone) without having to visit a branch if you really wanted to.

You get that error message usually due to a bank being blacklisted by Paypal. Capital One 360, Ally bank, Greendot bank, etc do not work. A lot of (though not all) online-only banks do not work. You can choose any of the major banks, or even smaller credit unions and you'll be a lot better off.

Unless you have something negative on your Chex report, there's no reason to go with a "lesser" bank. And even then, there are still better options than the banks mentioned above.

Lets say someone has a savings account with Citibank, will opening a checkings account with the same bank work for verifying and withdrawing from paypal?

Or would it be smarter to create a whole new account with a new bank?

I think it creating a new checkings/savings account with the same bank should be enough... can someone confirm this.

as long as the bank account numbers are different its perfectly safe.. and will work you can have multiple accounts with the same bank.

You can still call them via phone and ask them to add the bank.

Having issues adding banks to post 180-day limited paypals.

Bank is BOFA

Upon calling, Rep asked me why the name on the bank didnt match the name on the account


Anyone have solutions?

no, they could just see the name on the bank account. no deposits were ever made.

theres probably a law that has changed under our noses that allows paypal to view names on any banks being attempted to be added on limited paypals.

you can't add a VCC to a limited paypal, either

thats what I'm trying to finagle, but the money could very well be gone

its my fault that i didnt keep the CVC code AND didnt keep the bank attached though.

I have been getting the same error trying to add US Bank account to a limited account that had finally aged 180 days. I no longer had access to the bank on that account. I had to call PayPal and they said they would add it for me. At the time I wasn't ready to give them my account info, but this error doesn't seem to go away and the only option is to call PayPal.

I kept getting an "Unknown Service Error" when trying to add US Bank bank account to my limited account. Yes the account was limited but it stated in the resolution center that I could add a bank account. I called PayPal and luckily got a very young very polite young man that told me he would add it for me. All I had now was a green dot account though so I was a little nervous it would get kicked. But after he came back from putting me on hold he said it's G2G.

I asked him if he minded staying on the line while I confirmed the account was there and complete my transfer and he agreed. The account was there and after 7 months I finally will have my $800.

If greendot dont flag it and reverse the payment . Wouldnt call it over till money is in hand

exactly green dot will only accept 500 at a time and 1000 per month so the 800 will be bounced back

I completely forgot about that. It is a Walmart money card and the issuing bank is GreenDot. I do have a question though. How is a deposit coming in from PayPal that is greater than 500 any different from a direct deposit from an employer that is also greater than 500?

does anyone know of any VCC that can be added to a 180-day limited paypal? because then one could just withdraw a check

most people operate accounts with stealth names, not a good idea to cash checks with different names.

Green dot rules. Only applies to paypal. Been like that forever. It will bounce back. You should of did 490 one day and then the rest of the balance the next day and you would of been fine.

Tons of vcc can. Problem is you need to check your limitation page and see if it allows it.
