Adding EIN info on paypal won't pass

Need some helps here!
My Paypal just hit 200/20,000 mark,they ask me to provide the EIN.
my paypal is stealth name.

Then I click add EIN button, the web page jump into the next page and says:

We’re sorry
You can't upgrade your account to a business account because it is limited. We'll help you resolve the issue. Please call us at xxx-xxx or create a new account with a different email address?

What should I do? Any suggestion? (I am sure my PayPal is still able to transfer money not limited)

So if I create a new PayPal to attach my old ebay account, should I use the same name or all information have to be new? My ebay is ok, so does PayPal as so far. No problem with transfer or withdraw money.

I had this happen because of the add funds from bank puts it in this loop beause it doesn't work with EIN.

Did u find a way to work around? Or i have to call paypal. I am not comfortable to do that because i am not the account creator, i do not have files on hand such as DOB, address. etc.

I think you have to search the forums. I think you was suppose to upgrade it before getting limited I believe calling in is the only work around. It's a upgrade loop

Yes this issue was known. I haven't read a resolve besides adding the EIN prior to limitation. I have read one or twice that people keep refreshing or using other browser, however I don't know if that was just luck, one time thing or if another solution has come around.

i tried on 3 different browser, no luck.

Thanks. I did some research on forum. It seems like to call paypal and let them manually add it for you its the only way to go.

I bought this stealth account from aspkin. I don't know how this account was set up. If paypal try to verify my identity when i call them,such as ask account name, address, then next they may say the address and name is not match the info they have in their database then paypal will request the SSN and DOB. Then i will busted. I have a very bad experience to call in paypal and that lead me lose a account. so i hope someone can use their trick help me get around the stupid paypal's question

I'm having the same issue with my account. However, I think my situation is a bit different than yours. I just hit 150 items sold and they sent me a email saying that I need to provide tax identification or else they will limit my account. Is this just a warning that I am getting close to the 200? Paypal is sending me some crazy mixed signals and I was wondering if you had the same issues

1) When I try to upgrade my account to a business, it says I can't because I am limited
2) I had $40 available and a couple grand held before the limitation. I tried withdrawing the $40 after I was hit with the tax requirement and it worked. does this mean I'm not completely limited and I can still withdraw but just not receive?
3) When I open up the details of my recent eBay sales, it says my funds will be available in 21 days (not 180).
4) When I'm on the home page of eBay, on the top, it says I am limited and will need to provide tax identification

Did you also have these issues? I am so confused with Paypal because half the time, I feel like I'm not limited but half the time I feel like I am.

Can anyone please shed some light?

if your account is already limited, the only way to resolve it is by calling, at this point in time.

it is strongly advised to apply the EIN prior to limitation

this is much like many other stealth problems where it can be game over for that account


but feel free to play around. we all learn by playing with shiz

Just wanted to follow up with what you said.

1) i didn't go over, I was at 150/7000 when the limitation hit, I was planning on adding the EIN soon but I didn't expect them to send me the email so quickly
2) Yes, this account is about 2 months old, so not yet pass the 90 day threshold.

Now, I'm basically over the idea of being able to keep this account. I'm more focused on getting the funds out of my account as soon as possible now and starting fresh again. So my question is, am I in a special situation where I'm limited but I can still withdraw? I do not want to wait 180 days as I need to pay bills. I'm just worried because this forum talks a lot about Paypal's misleading wording and miscommunication. So if my funds say it should be available in 21 days, it is for sure right? Even if I'm "limited"?

paypal ask for tax info on projected sales . They look at the amount sold & calculate for the future.

Your flag is Canadian. Where are you actually selling?
